Awful Smell Jun 14, 2010
By Smith I ordered these as I've used similar ones in my yoga class and love them. However, this set has a horrible smell to them, as mentioned in other reviews. I thought they just needed to be aired out. They sat outside for a week and came back in still with an awful plastic smell. It really makes them hard to use and there is no way to relax with the smell. It seems like an odd complaint but it was bad enough I had to send them back for a refund.

Nice size but too spiky Jun 24, 2010

These would be perfect for me if they were smooth. I use a tennis ball around my shoulder blades and spine but it's a little too soft and too small. These balls are larger and firmer and work great on your back if you don't mind the spikes. They don't really hurt, but they are uncomfortable enough that I've gone back to the tennis ball. Another reviewer said the smell was horrible. They do have a plastic smell but I didn't find it too strong or bad smelling.

Very Useful Sep 12, 2009
By Cadillakin I have issues (neuromas) that causes my feet and toes to stiffen. These porcupine balls are very good for my problem, in that I can work my toes and the ball of my feet, which helps keep my feet limber and flexible..
My feet are much better for a day or two after using these for 10 or 15 minutes. They work MUCH BETTER than the wood rollers that are commonly sold and used on the arch area. These will massage any areas of your feet that you need massaged, including your arches.
And you can do it all while sitting down.
Edit: Price went way up since I purchased. At $24, forget it.

smelly balls Jan 16, 2011
By Hollyhock The plastic that these balls are made of smell so bad. It is horrible. If you can get past that they are ok for massaging.

Okay Nov 28, 2009

I occasionally get knots in the bottom of my feet and was taught years ago to rub my feet on a golf ball to massage the soles. It does work very well. I decided to try the mini-massage balls for the same reason, thinking the yellow ball would be as small as a golf ball. It's roughly twice the size, which is fine because I figured the texture would work better anyways. If you are looking for something to work out deeply work out sore spots, I don't know if this is it because the spikes are a little too soft. It didn't work for my purpose so I'll stick with golf balls, however, I am sure they'd be nice for a back rub.
