Good but has some issues Jul 29, 2010

We have two young 80-90 pound Giant Schnauzers. We use these every day. EXCEPT one of the batons we purchased (not at the same time and from Gulf Coast Pet Supplies), the "metal" snap clip for the harness/collar snapped and broke allowing our dog to go free (thankfully, well behaved and came right back) and then today the blue cord on the wand gave way, again allowing our dog to run free. Both of these issues happened on the same baton. The other has given us no trouble whatsoever and our dogs love to run next to us.
A warning with those with big, powerful dogs: the dogs CAN pull you off course. And the clamp can swivel some (not so much a big deal). Our dogs ran besides our bike on leash before we got the Walky Dogs and we MUCH prefer the Walky Dog. We are now trying to purchase just the baton.
Certainly isn't a perfect product (thus 4 stars - the missing star for the faulty baton) but certainly better than running your dog with a leash and your bike.

Awesome and Easy to apply Mar 22, 2010

I bought this item sometime ago and was so anxious to use it. The Walky Dog gives me and my dog Terra a chance to get out and be free without holding on to a leash. I just attached it to the seat post and then to the dog's collar and off we went. We ride on the bike trails, around the neighbor-hood and even small dirt jumps. Terra absolutely loves it and gets excited to go when the bikes come out. It detaches as easy as it attaches. The locking system give you a sense of comfort. The Walky Dog doubles as a leash as well for the rest periods. The only problem is that I cant get it tight enough to keep it from moving slightly. When we go fast...Terra pulls so hard she twists the mounting piece that is attached to the bike, but it is still secure enough to prevent her from jolting off after cats, people, etc. After all I do have a pit bull terrier so it could possibly be her strength. Overall this is an awesome product.

The amazing power of a spring Aug 23, 2011
By Elliehanna My dog is 60 lbs and 25 inches tall at the shoulders, he can't really get under the walky dog but that does not stop it from working like a charm. I have had dogs run up to him and he has to keep moving I have had squirrels run by and he can't get to them because it keeps him moving the right way. I just love my walky dog.

My Dogs LOVE this! Feb 19, 2011

Holy Crap! I read some of the other reviews saying the metal piece that attaches to the seat post pivots in spite of how much you may tighten the screw-- this is not a bad thing! I took a spill (took a turn too fast) with my dog. Had she not been able to pivot behind me, I would have landed on her.
I loved this SO much that I bought another! I now have both male pieces bolted to my bike and my 2 huskies run along side me on either side! 1-2 Hour walks are not 30-40 min bike rides! So Awesome!

Great Product Feb 18, 2011
By Postaljosh I have had my Walky Dog for over a year now and love it. My Husky and I ride for a few miles a day and this thing allows me to focus more on riding than what she's doing. Training her with it was very easy even using a harness which I suggest something with a padded chest it helps them understand that it is only ok to pull when the harness is on I use leg cues so she knows when to turn and when to stop.
