Proper Sizing Oct 28, 2011
By Maureen A. Anderson I have yet to receive mine, so I'll let you know how these work out after I've used them for a bit. I've had chronic heel/ankle pain for over 30 years, starting BEFORE my teens, so I'm a tough critic. But just to help everyone out with the sizing, what they have here on amazon is wrong. According to the manufacturer's site, if you don't want the one-size-fits-all then it has nothing to do with weight, you measure the circumference of your instep (arch): XS = up to 7.5 inches Small = 7.5 to 8.5 inches Medium = 8.5 to 9.5 inches Large = 9.5 to 10.5 inches XL = over 10.5 inches
Makes much more sense, huh? For what it's worth I'm trying the one size fits all because I prefer a wrap, not a compression style, but if you want it sized then that's how you do it. Good luck to everyone with easing their pain!

So glad I got this!!! May 06, 2008
By Russell I wasnt going to leave a review but then I saw the 1 bad review a lady left on the medium sized one. I have a heel spur right under the achilles heel, not on the bottom of my foot. I have tried everything known to man (except surgery) to try to help this. This brace is the only thing that works. My spur is still there, but I do not hurt NEARLY as bad after playing football. Also, it works great for playing basketball too. I have tried other braces and then one works the best by far. My only suggestion is to buy two. I'm about to, just waiting to find something else to get for the free shipping. It comes with another gel pad without the brace. But its a pain to keep it in place if you play sports that require you to stop and go. I tear up all my socks and it ends up moving all around. So Im going to buy another one for my other foot, just cause they feel so good.
This also isnt a real great brace. Which is why I really like it. It allows normal movement but helps with my pain better than the old brace I had that was alot stiffer and more expensive. I noticed after running on the old one that my calf wasnt really being used much when running. Well one day I couldnt find it and went jogging without it. My right calf was SO sore from not using that muscle, since I had that ankle braced every other time I ran. It was terrible. I now run faster since Ive starting using this brace and my calf actually has a muscle there again.
If you play sports, or just like running...this brace is awesome. Give it a shot..it only $16.. you'll be glad you did.

just the thing for gymnasts! Apr 14, 2009

I needed something for my gymnast to tumble in. She had a cracked heel (growth plate) and these were recommended by the ortho. I have put them through the washing machine (in a pillowcase) and then hung them to dry. They have held up for a couple of years using them 15 hours a week.

As though they were custom designed for me! May 12, 2011

i couldn't have designed a more perfect product for myself. they offer the ankle stabilization plus the heel and arch support i need. they will be a good alternative to those scary plantar fasciitis night splint i thought i was going to have to wear.
i ordered two at the suggestion of the chef who reviewed this same product in another listing. [...]
don't be confused that the straps only wrap in one direction and think that the design is specific to the left or right shoe. they fit either foot.
in the last 3 months i have been suffering severe heel and arch pain. i can actually pinpoint the day it happened. we were moving and it was raining so i wore my gardening mid-height boots. said boots, which are comfortable for a couple of hours of puttering around in the yard, were the wrong choice for a long, long day of working on my feet: no support for very high arches, no cushion for my feet for what seemed like a trek through the amazon from my front door to the moving truck. the following day the pain in my arch was crippling. a few days later the pain radiated to pinpoint focused burning agony on the bottom of my heel.
as a result of some googling, i figured out that i had developed plantar fasciitis. stretching and cold compresses and dr.scholll's gel inserts only went so far in alleviating the pain. depending on activity, i would bounce from a good day with little pain to waking up incapacitated by a crippling gimpy hobble that put stress on my ankles or knees then hips on successive days. some days the pain was so severe it took a great deal of effort not to cry when i had to move around.
i noticed on day that i had started to favor wearing my old gardening booties with the dr. scholl's heel cups. while the actual wearing of the booties was uncomfortable, the next day was guaranteed to be a little less painful. the booties were just high enough over my ankles to give a little support. i thought "someone must have something offers the same structure i can wear around the house".
tuli did. great product.

A Blessing Feb 11, 2011
By horseglue I am a Chef working two full time jobs for a total of sixteen hours a day. I went searching online for a product to help my plantar fasciitis, which has gotten almost intolerable. I didnt want to spend a couple of hundred dollars on the boots you sleep in and be uncomfortable while trying to sleep and I felt I really needed some support on my arch during the day. So after looking around I gave these a shot.
Yes you do have to buy two, they are not a pair.
Yes the sizing is strange, I'm just 125 and I bough a large because they range 120 pound and above. I dont really understand why they arn't fitted to your shoe size but the large fit me correctly, snug and tight to put on but supportive to wear and the heel cup is the perfect size, which was what I worried about. I dont think now that I should have gotten a smaller size. I think that may have cut off my circulation.
What it has done for me is nothing short of a blessing.
My arches don't hurt during the day anymore. Towards the end of the day after 14 hours my feet are sore, but nothing nothing like it was before this product. I do still experience occasional sharp pains in my heel, which is very likely a bone spur developing. But the constant sharp stabbing pains in my arch, instep and center of my heel I had with normal walking is gone. I feel not just that the plantar fasciitis is not as painful but maybe that my feet are supported enough to begin to heal.
These improvements have no other source than this product. I never bought the boots you wear to sleep in, do very little stretching of my arch throughout the day, and only a few minutes before I get out of bed (same as before I had them) and the value to my feet is astonishing. Days before I received them in the mail I was resting each foot in turn on a bag of ice while on the line cooking. Not anymore.
Since I wear them everyday I'm going to get another pair or two, because yes they are hot and yes they make your feet sweat and smell. So having an extra pair or two to change out through the week would be great but Ill never go without them again.
I dont ever write reviews but this one had to be shared. If you have Plantar Fasciitis do something wonderful for yourself and buy these.
