Confidence in a container! Sep 29, 2010
By Zacheray J. Long Alright.. I'm a 20 year old student at Kent State University. At age 18, I was starting to see thinning in my hair. Now I have a gaping bald spot in the vertex area that is a little bigger than a quarter. I would wear a hat everywhere or just avoid people if I couldn't. Toppik gave me back my confidence, but not without some drawbacks.
First of all: it works. Sprinkle it all over your spot and you'll be amazed at the coverage you get. Just make sure you get the right color. My hair is a very dark brown and the dark brown one matches perfectly. The bottle says to spread it gently, but I don't do that. It just messes it all up... sprinkle it and leave it. It works if your hair is damp or dry, but not wet. There's a few tricks you need to learn to get it to last all day though:
1. Do not rub the applied area on ANYTHING. If my head is against a wall or whatever, I make sure to tilt my head so that the bald area doesn't touch anything.
2. Avoid water! Rain is, unfortunately, deadly. On those rainy days, I wear a hat all day because there's just no way around it. It causes the spot to usually remain covered, but in a 'spotty' way. It becomes obvious something has been done to your hair.
3. When you go to bed, it will most likely rub off so you need to apply it once a day.
To me it's worth it. I'm too young to be balding.. I shouldn't have to live with this. These containers will run you about $100 a year, but you can't tell me regaining your confidence isn't worth that.

Unless I got a fake bottle of Toppik this product is BS Mar 30, 2011
By Deep Enigmatic Monicker First let me explain. My hair has been slowly thinning all around for the past 2 years. It's mainly been thinning in the front. I've tried Rogain for 2 years and yeah i'm not sure if that's even helping.
Through research and seeing what other people use to cover up balding i found out about toppik. Now the commercial made it look like you sprinkle on REAL HAIR. I'm a skeptic so I was never expecting that so the fact that it didn't look like the commercial didn't disappoint me. Oh yeah I also had to pay $20 bucks for an f'n spray pump thing. Why didn't that just come with the toppik to begin with? It'd be like buying windex without the spray cap and having to spend $20 so you could spray it. Totally reasonable right?
Ok when i first got the Toppik in the mail i sprayed a little on my arm to test it. Of course it doesn't look like real hair but surprisingly it looks really good. It's basically just black makeup but it blends really well and that's all i was expecting. So i applied it to the two balding spots in front of my hairline. And it looked AMAZING! I was so happy! It really made it look just like i had all my hair back. You can't comprehend how relieved i felt. I was so happy I figured wow i could just use this till i get ridiculously bald. It was a dream come true.
What I did was apply the toppik before I went to work and then wash it off before bed. So great right? Troubles are over?
No -_- At about the third day in I washed it out and noticed something weird. My hair was thinner than EVER! I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me and i REFUSED to believe it. Could the toppik be making me lose my hair? NO WAY! I researched this thoroughly and everyone said the same thing toppik does not make you lose more hair.
To put my theory to the test I stopped applying toppik to the left part of my hairline but continued to use it on the right part of my hairline. The balding on the right side got way worse and the balding on the left stood the same. Yes it's true toppik actually made me lose more hair. I would have been better off stealing some of my sisters makeup. This product is complete BS and I HATE everyone involved with marketing this scam. I've now lost even more hair and even more depressed about it. I seriously just wanted to aim at my bald spot and blow my brains out. I hate toppik and i hate everyone involved with marketing or selling it.

As Advertised Nov 07, 2010
By Michel I'm often skeptical about many products in todays world. People will say anything to sell their product and get ahead. However, Toppik did not let me down. It works as advertised. Visible scalp literally just dissappears with a younger looking head of hair. I've shown people as I put it in and they've been pretty impressed. You really just can't tell. I've had friends walk right up after I put it on, and they say they simply can't tell. You just look like you have more hair. It's not going to give you a head of hair like Brad Pitt or Thor, but, thinning spots will go away perfectly. I'll never again go without a bottle in my bathroom.

Great for building thickness into thinning areas May 29, 2011
By Layla This product is fabulous if you need it for what I needed it for: building thickness into a thinning area of your hair. I have an area at the top of my head that's thinned out and you can see my scalp through it. When I shake some Tonnik over it, it bonds to my hair in that area and makes it appear more full. I don't use this product every day, but only once in a while when I go out and want to look nicer and cover up my thinning areas. The product really does bond to the hair and look like part of the hair. It doesn't leave crumbs or anything and it's not noticeable at all. You have to give it a few minutes to bond though, so don't worry if after applying it you touch your hair and it gets all over your fingers. To avoid that, I recommend: (1) don't use too much, because if you layer too much on then there won't be any hair left for the product to bond to; and (2) after you shake it on, don't mess with it. Just leave it alone for 10 minutes while it bonds. This product does need hair to bond to, however, so it probably won't work well if you try it on a completely bald spot. It's best for thinning areas, not bald areas. When I use it, I sometimes go to sleep with it still on and it doesn't leave any mess on my pillow. I usually wash it out the next morning. Good luck!

Not Bad Sep 18, 2010
By missbusy It basically covers up your bald spots with fibers that look just like your hair. It's pretty great when you have special occasions where you take photos and don't want those spots to show. It's also great for just daily use, it makes me feel like I have more hair than I actually do. It doesn't come off until you wash it. I just use it dry without any hair oil and still sticks pretty well. Hope it works for you too..
