Not what I ordered Mar 13, 2009
By M. Ellsworth I ordered this product on January 5, 2009. I loved the product. I decided to order another one for my husband recently on March 9, 2009 and was totally surprised by what I received. It wasn't like the one I ordered previously. It didn't look the same (it was plain cream colored fabric on both sides without the Thermalon logo), and it wasn't the same size (it was shorter and wider), and it didn't work the same (it didn't hold the heat as well). What's going on here? I'm debating on whether I should return it. It doesn't make sense to me. If I had known they would substitute the item without notification I wouldn't have ordered another one. So be careful. You may not receive what the picture and description advertise.

Great for Lasik dry eyes... Apr 26, 2008
By Free Spirit I had Lasik Wavefront surgeries on both eyes, and one of my eyes feel quite dry at times. I was told that moist heat can open up and unclog oil glands, that's the reason why I purchased this sinus mask. Along with eye drops, this mask relieves my dry eye when I use it on a regular basis. So I do recommend this for anyone who suffers Lasik dry eyes syndrome.

Not great for eye care Jan 18, 2009
By ElisaQ This product does create moist heat (I wasn't sure that the whole "pulls moisture from the air" thing would pan out). It doesn't, however, stay hot for very long. It's pretty cool by the end of my five minute treatment.
Also, it's probably better for sinus issues than eye problems. The beads inside don't stay very well in the middle parts that sit on your eyes. Instead, they pool to the side.

Solution for Dry Eye Syndrome due to Miebomian Gland Dysfuntion Jan 16, 2011
By anglobiblio My corneal specialist recommended that I apply hot, moist compresses to my eyes a few times per day in order to help the meibomian glands secrete the necessary oil to protect my eyes. At first I tried hot washcloths, but they would cool too quickly (you need to apply heat for at least 5 minutes to liquefy the hardened oil in the glands, which you then express by massaging the lids - a few doctors have put videos on Youtube that demonstrate the motion). Compared to hot cloths, the Thermalon Microwave Activated Moist Heat Mask is much more convenient and holds the heat long enough to be effective.
I wish the mask came with little pillow cases which I could put in the wash. Instead, I wrap it in a dry wash cloth to protect the mask from getting dirty. The moist heat still comes right through to my eyes. The mask instructions say that it is washable, but I have yet to try it.
I am going to buy a few more, just in case they decide to stop making them.

works ok, not exactly as advertised Oct 31, 2009
By GeorgeG I just received the hot/cold sinus mask today. It's not exactly as pictured. This is not the sellers doing, the product doesn't even match the picture on the package. It's basically a bean bag, these pics all show extra stitching as if there are compartments to hold the contents from swishing around freely, mask received does not. Also it's kind of heavy on the eyes(maybe because my eyes are sore?) Anyway, it holds heat a lot longer than other things I've used. Caution, it says to heat for one minute, if not enough, heat another 30 secs. One minute was more than enough, I had to let it cool, felt like I was burning my eyes.
