I suffer from chronic neck and shoulder pain and after extensive research purchased the Theratherm Digital Moist Heating Pad. This product is a little on the expensive side for heating pads but worth every penny. This is not your typical light weight heating pad that you would find at the discount outlets, in other words you get what you pay for. I purchased the model that is shaped to go around your neck and shoulders and so far am more than pleased with the way it gives me releif from nagging pain.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone that doesn't mind spending a little more to get a product that not only is well made but works as advertised.

I recently underwent extensive cervical surgery and after 7 weeks am still recovering. The recovery process is extremely painful and muscle spasm and severe pain is not uncommon. I received, unexpectedly, the shoulder-neck thermatherm heating pad as a gift from a dear friend. I have owned several heating pads over the years but I was amazed at the effectiveness of this particular one. You immediately feel the difference when you place it on your body. It was evidently well thought out as it covers your shoulders and back as well as chest with extraordinary comfort. It is soft, not a stiff plastic I've encountered with many pads. The digital controls allow you to set the time and temperature you desire. The heat radiates precisely where you want it.
It's construction is very impressive and I was impressed with the quality of manufacture. For my needs nothing could substitute. I use it constantly and I know it has helped me through the most stressful moments of my muscle spasm. Within a few days all spasm was relieved. I can see I will depend on this for other needs as well. The chest is well covered and would be useful for any cold or flu.
I can not say enough regarding my attachment to this device and would highly recommend it to anyone with neck shoulder or chest discomfort requiring heat. I have no experience with the rectangular pads but I would expect the same quality and pleasure for those needing that type of heating pad.
There are no downsides but I would add that it is unlike a heating pad that heats and stays hot. It cycles. It reaches the desired temp and then cools slightly prior to reheating. It took some getting used to but I found this aspect a wisely built in safety feature and one which can be readily adapted to and appreciated.

I have owned this heating pad for well over a year, and it is among my most valuable possessions. I am a teacher who suffers from chronic neck and shoulder pain as a result of long hours grading papers and working on a computer. I use this heating pad every day as it soothes my tired, aching muscles.

I love this neck wrap! Finally a heating pad that fits around your shoulders, heating your neck, shoulders and upper back all at the same time. Love the moist heat. Love the temp control. If I were to change one thing, it would be the auto-shut-off. That is a nice feature, but seems like I'm turning it back on alot. I love this heat pack though and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I am amazed by the quality of this heating-pad . . . definitely a cut above many other models, and worth the extra investment. I rely on moist-heat therapy for management of chronic pain ~ I actually have a hydrocollator unit at home (due to an old neck injury). My work necessitates travel and I get quite sore when I'm 'on the road'. This product makes the benefits of moist heat therapy something that I can access while traveling!
