A Reluctant 3 Stars. But With Instructions for Setting the Clock Dec 10, 2010
By William R. Tweed I bought this talking clock for someone who does not see well. How difficult life is for people who can't see! Imagine not being able to easly tell what the current time is.
Anyway, the clock works OK, and the person I bought it for was happy. That is, she was happy until the clock's alarm started going off at an odd hour. I tried to shut the alarm off, but having lost the instructions that came with the device, all I managed to do was get the clock to announce the hour every hour - twenty four hours a day. Only a little bit worse than the original problem.
I wrote to the seller, asking for help. Silence.
So, I searched the net for instructions. These I found and they are listed below.
Happy timekeeping.
Talking Keychain Clock
Place your talking pocket clock in front of you, with the metal keychain facing straight ahead. Now, be sure to have the side with three small buttons up. Buttons: Left: Mode Middle: Hour Right: Minute
To set the time, press Mode until one beep is heard. Then, just press the Hour and Minute buttons until the time is set correctly.
To set the alarm, press Mode again until you hear two beeps. Then, just as before, use the Hour and Minute buttons.
To return to regular operation, press Mode one final time--and you'll hear three confirming beeps.
To turn the alarm on, press Hour, and you'll hear four beeps followed by the time the alarm is set for. To turn off the alarm, press Hour again, and you'll get just one beep.
Lastly, to turn Hourly Announce on, press the Minute button and listen for four beeps. To turn it off, press Minute again, and you'll hear only one beep. And of course, whenever you want to hear the time, just press the large button on the opposite side of the keychain.

I bought this for my mother, who has macular degeneration. She loves it! She keeps it in her pocket and can find out the time whenever she wants. Shipping was quick, too.

A solution to a problem. Jul 23, 2010
By B. Gilmore
"frequent shopper"
I ordered the talking clock with a specific purpose in mind. My mother is elderly, can't see, therefore often does not know what time it is. She sometimes gets up in the middle of the night and gets dressed, thinking it is morning! I removed the keychain part and put the clock on a nice silver necklace and she proudly shows all of her friends at the nursing home! They all want one!

Very handy gadget for the sight impaired. Aug 25, 2011
By P. Winn This is the second one that we have bought. The first was for my 93 yr. old father-in-law who can no longer see his watch. He uses it constantly. He says it's the best present we have ever given him. This time we ordered one for him to give a friend.
