LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jul 29, 2010 I LOVE this machine!!! I have two small children (3 and 2), and it's hard for me to get to the gym. So, this product is perfect. It's small and doesn't take too much space. I can jump on and off of it in a whiz. It has resistance, as needed. It was simple putting it together. I want to buy one for everyone I know!!! It's perfect!!!
Rock Solid Jul 23, 2010 If you can read directions; you can put the e1000 together in 10 minutes. Its simple to assemble and operate. My first test of this machine was great; my wife likes it as well. I'm also sending one to my Dad. Stop hesitating and order one one of these e1000's while they are still available.
Love It! Jul 22, 2010 This little machine delivers as promised. Perfect for space challenged homes like my own. The stride is much shorter than a full size elliptical but very easy to get used to & actually a better & more comfortable stride for shorter people. I've been using mine for six weeks now and am still 100% satisfied!
Great...for a while Jul 20, 2010 I ordered this because I live on the third floor of an apartment building and I needed something to do besides walk the dog (especially when the weather isn't great). I wasn't expecting too much of a workout, but I was glad when I read this item had adjustable tension, since it would be harder to plateau if I could increase the intensity gradually.
I used this machine once a day for anywhere from 30-90 minutes. I don't think the calorie counter is very accurate (way overestimates), but it was a good workout.
However, only 8-10 weeks after I started using it, it got so noisy that I had to get rid of it. My husband and I took apart what we could (without fully disassembling), and applied WD-40, grease, cleaners, etc...nothing fixed the squeaking shriek it had begun to emit. One of the steps also started coming loose, not because of a loose bolt, but because it appeared that the hole where the step was screwed into the arm was getting looser. I don't believe that any machine I paid $90 for should have to be disassembled, reassembled and fanagled with so much, just to make it serve its function, so I was very disappointed.
So, while I really enjoyed the machine's initial quiet operation, its adjustability for tension, its size, and the quality of the workout, it did not last long enough to justify spending $90 on it. Perhaps if you are planning to be a light user (not every day, and/or not for very long each time), this might be right for you. Also, if you are pretty handy and/or don't mind having to fix this thing up every few months, you might like this machine.
Not for advanced exercisers. Jul 13, 2010 I read all the reviews before purchasing this product, and was on the fence for a while, but decided to buy it for those evenings I just didnt feel like it/have time to go to the gym for my normal workout. It's definately a great product for beginner exercisers. It gets your heart rate going, breaks a little bit of a sweat... but I have to agree with the other reviewers that the stride length is very frustrating. I'm used to maximum levels on the treadmil/eliptical so this little thing seemed very restricting to me. I am 5'6" tall... maybe that has something to do with it. For beginners or people that need an easy way to get off the sofa, this product is awesome.
I do have to say that Amazon was AWESOME in handling the return of this item. I was worried because of the weight, what the item was etc., that I would not be able to return it. I simply followed the online instructions and placed the box outside my door and the UPS guy came, slapped a sticker on it and off it went, no charge to me. And my credit card was credited in a very short amount of time. Thanks Amazon!
