Perfect sharpness Jan 04, 2008
By Busy Mother Wife and Nurse I started using tongue scrapers about 10 years ago, my plastic ones from that long ago (by Breath Remedy) were lasting fine until the dog chewed them up! I tried to buy some replacements and found the ones created today are much too soft. I tried all kinds of brands but found they all bent under pressure and just did not have the sharpness to their edge to get a good scrape. I ran across this one and FINALLY I have my replacement.... and it is one the dog can't chew up! The handle is a bit awkward but the nice edge and the permanence of stainless steel makes up for it. Great product, and my search is over!

Fabulous Feb 13, 2008
By S. Thomas When I first started using a tongue scraper 3 years ago, I immediately noticed results. Not only was my mouth & breath fresher, but it also cut cravings b/c the taste of foods no longer lingered. Before I used plastic versions, but decided to try this after positive reviews and I love it. It's easier to clean the instrument and seems to do a more thorough job. I highly recommend.

New Aug 12, 2008
By Mowsa Its light and the metal is thinner than I was expecting, but otherwise its great! You won't have to replace it like the plastics that are meant to be replaced every 3 months. Use it along with brands like Therabreath or Profresh, and you'll be set.

Doesn't work as well as the cheap plastic/rubber one Dec 23, 2011
By camus Hate to give this just 1 star, but this over-priced dental instrument is a waste of money.
I've been using a tongue scraper for many years. It's a great way to have clean breathe and keep that funk from building up on your tongue.
I've always purchased various cheap plastic tongue scrapers for $2-3 at my local drug store such as this one: DenTek Tongue Cleaner - 1 Ea Sku Hd 1752484 They work fine but would eventually become stained and I would toss them and get another.
I read about the Stainless Steel Tongue scraper on some health site. I liked the idea of a "high end" tongue scraper that I could clean instead of tossing into the landfill.
Got the Stainless Steel Tongue scraper a few days ago and I am disappointed. First of all and most importantly, it simply is NOT a good scraper. The edge is not sharp enough. It reminds me of the same sharpness of a steel table spoon - which is what I used to use before I started buying purpose-built plastic tongue scrapers.
After doing a side-by-side comparison of my Dentex $3 rubber-coated plastic tongue scraper to the $15 Stainless Steel Tongue scaper it is without question: the plastic scraper is much more effective in every way. It is sharper (but not too sharp) than the Stainless. And it flexes and accommodates the curve of your tongue better than the rigid Stainless scraper. Lastly, the plastic Dentex scraper is $3 - not $15 (sheesh, I was almost going to get the $40 Titanium scraper - what a waste of money that would have been).
In sum, the Stainless Scraper, and, I suspect, all the metal scrapers from the manufacturer are about as effective as a stainless steel table spoon. Which is to say, not very effective. Save your $$ and just get the plastic ones - they work so much better.

Really works well! Apr 27, 2010
By Matthew Richardson I got this after reading the bad reviews of other brand tongue scrapers that are plastic, how they break and do not even clean well. Well I have now been using this for two days and wow, it works so well. I used it this morning and it is 4 o'clock in the after noon and my mouth still feels really fresh. Not only is it a strong cure for breath problems but my tongue looks more healthy and pink like the other reviewers noted, and this is only after 3 uses! I can only imagine it will get better the more I use it. So my verdict is 5/5 and well worth the money, use this with mouth wash and it's a killer combination for dental hygiene.
Buyers may be wary spending 13 bucks on a tongue scraper but it is worth the money because you will literally never have to buy another one, it is made out of surgical steel and the metal is coated with a coating that makes water just bead off of it, I don't think it will ever wear out.
