Source Naturals Psyllium Husk Powder Apr 17, 2010
By Rockster This is a great product. If you buy metamucil, you know how well psyllium husk powder works for moving food through your digestive tract. Take a look at the ingredients in Metamucil - lots of things you can't pronounce plus artificial sweetener and colors, etc. Plain psyllium Husk powder is cheap and Amazon packages it in packs of 4. I buy the 4-pack and give some to my daughter and mother-in-law.
Because it is tasteless, you can mix this with just about anything. I like to mix it with either orange juice or with Bolthouse Farms drinks - like the Veggie. I have a glass with a snap-on lid so I just pour in my liquid of choice, add a couple teaspoons of this powder, snap on the lid, shake vigorously, and drink the stuff. I like to do it before bedtime and it does the job the next morning. Be sure to use enough liquid and drink it soon after mixing. If not enough liquid is used, it can turn into a gel pretty fast making it harder to drink. This product has been a lifesaver to me.

Pure and Natural Mar 05, 2009
By Vivian Smith Psyllium Husk Powder is the one thing I have used that actually works. Believe me, I have used every different thing on the market, and just a half teaspoon of this stuff in my juice in the morning, and I don't have any problems with "you know." I love it that there is nothing added, just pure psyllium husk. I know I'm not putting more chemicals in my body. One bottle lasts a long time, so get friends together to share a shipment!

Great stuff, good price, and it's soluble Oct 24, 2009
By Doug Stevens I've been using this for a couple of years to help with LDL cholesterol levels. Any kind of fiber (soluble or insoluble) is good for keeping your plumbing functional, but soluble fiber is harder to come by and it is what helps within the circulation system. I don't know whether to credit careful dietary habits, exercise, or help from soluble fiber, but something is helping significantly. The price seems reasonable -- but watch for fluctuations.

Drinking sawdust is good for you. Aug 29, 2010

Fiber supplements seem to be the type of thing that is fairly individualized. What is perfect for me may not be for you, and it is personal preference more than quality of product in many cases. Well, this is the product that I have found to be best for me. I've tried pills, etc. They just didn't work as well, and you had to take a lot of them. So now every morning I pour some cold water into a cup and stir this into it. It tastes like I am drinking a piece of wood. It isn't awful, but it isn't something you'd decide to drink for the taste of it. I don't think the taste is something you get entirely use to, but it really isn't that bad. If you can handle any fiber that you stir into water, you will likely be fine with this. And it is a good price for a fair amount of the stuff. I'm very happy and will stick with this product for the foreseeable future. It obviously isn't flavored, but I didn't want a bunch of additives, etc.

A good help! May 31, 2009
By R. M. Duenas I use this product to get rid of excess cholesterol and to facilitate bowel movements. It performs very well. There are many products in the market similar to this one, but generally more expensive, that is why I prefer the Source Naturals brand.
