Great product. Dec 25, 2006
By Felucca Most heating pads I found to be too small for what I need. This larger size is perfect and I can't live without it. My doctor recommends moist heat and this worked great.
The only drawback for me is the auto-off feature. It turns off in 1 hour and I usually need it for longer but I guess that safety feature outweighs the inconvenience of turning it back on.
Also, the high setting doesn't get any hotter than the medium setting so instead of 4 heat settings, you are really only getting 3. Again, probably a safety feature but I would like it a little hotter.

very reliable heating pad Dec 23, 2007
By Matthew G. Sherwin Kaz makes a terrific soft heating pad with a thin sponge so that you can use it along with hot moist heat. I have relied on this product for years and it has never let me down.
It's easy enough to use. If you just want heat, turn it on and apply it to the area where you have discomfort. If you want hot moist heat then just wet the thin sponge that comes with it and insert the sponge carefully into the light blue "pillowcase" that the heating pad comes in. There are three settings for low heat, medium heat and high heat. This impresses me for a product in this price range.
It's also easy to store. After you finish using it you can wrap it up or fold it around itself and then store it in a drawer.
Just one warning: DON'T use this product if you think you might accidentally fall asleep while using it. This could potentially cause a fire if the heating pad were to accidentally overheat after several hours of nonstop use. It's safest to use it when you know you're going to stay awake. Amazon mentions an "auto shut-off" feature but I trust myself more when it comes to turning it off.
Overall, I highly recommend this rather fine heating pad with the sponge to apply moist heat. This heating pad lasts for years with proper care.

Nice heating pad Aug 24, 2008

Nice heating pad. It gets HOT if you want it to, has 4 heat settings, is a dry or moist heating pad, and it auto-shuts off after you've turned it on. (This is a big feature for me because I sometimes sleep with it. Yeah, I know you're not supposed to do that). It also has a control that is very faintly illuminated, making setting it in the dark a snap.
The cover material is soft as well. This is my second model of this heating pad as my first one gave up the ghost after about 3 years of moderately heavy use.
My only real gripe with this heating pad is that where the power cord enters the heating pad has kind of a wide and somewhat sharp edged plastic flare to it. Not a huge deal but it can poke you somewhat, particularly if you're trying to sleep with it. I will either end up *carefully* trimming the sharp edges (being careful to stay away from the wires) or putting a piece of tape over them.
Having said that, this is a good product and well worth your consideration.
