 I wont have to take grandma to the dentist Aug 12, 2011

Is it a common thing that people get less patient with age? My dear grandma used to drag me to the orthodontist every month faithfully, now I am driving her to these types of appointments and she is making a fuss the minute we get outside of his door. She turns up the volume the moment I open his front door, demanding any other patients waiting tell her what time their appt is for. I swear when we first went in June to get her new dentures she loved her dentist. Its now August and 11 visits later and we were about to give up. As she puts it, "thats $2700 she threw away". She starts telling everyone from the parking lot to the dentist chair he needs to redo them.
I went on the internet and spent half a day looking for something to save us from the foreseeable future of countless more trips to the dentist. Ill just say that I read enough about poorly fitting dentures to conclude this problem is not because the dentures it is because the health and condition of your gums. I'm not sure we are cutting these Sea Bond Lowers the right size, and the first time I don't know if I had the right side facing up. All I do know is she was yapping about how they were terrible dentures and then she went dead silent! She was quiet for so long I thought something was wrong, so that was yesterday and today she has again put one on and eaten toast, and reported to me this stuff is great. Great but she wants to see if they would make her some that were smaller so she doesn't have to trim the sides. I give this product 5 stars because the last time she was this pleased was when I bought her lighted magnifying glass for Christmas.

Purchased these for my husband and he was very satisfied. Not anything like that paste and glue tasting stuff. He balked at first, now he doesn't want to use anything but these. According to him, the adhesive is very good and holds up very well.

It works well, lasts all day. I like the minty taste. Great price so I buy ahead. Would definatly recommend.

Lost money on this product. Big Mama started using dentures and it is required to have a bonding agent to keep dentures in place. The concept of strips instead of paste got the best of me and of course my lack of previous experience on the subject did the rest. Bought Sea Bond Denture Adhesive, Lowers, Fresh Natural Mint, 15 lowers per Pack, (Case of 6) and started using them immediately only to find out that they did not help at all in securing the lower dentures. Good thing I held on my desire to purchase the upper! We started questioning the quality of the dentures but eventually did remember that among the instructions provided by our dentist we were supposed to purchase Fixodent, the toothpaste type product, and not this relatively praised by 4 reviewers product. I thought the strip instead of paste was a great concept (hoping to reduce the possible unpleasant flavor of using a paste-but of course I did not know squat about the subject at the time!). After our series of dismal efforts we acquired Fixodent and that very first day she could not take them off the first night! That's how tight they secured themselves and how confident she started feeling ever since. 1 Star because everyone else that rated it could not praise it enough and I am not doubting the veracity of their words, all I am saying is that for a true beginner (first set of choppers ever for Big Mama!) they never worked so 1 star is all they deserved and since I can not return the left overs, that also gets my goat! Money on the trash is not my idea of money well spent.
