Amazing, Amazing Product. Dramatically reduced my Scar Jan 28, 2009
By Lori Dubay
"Lori"
I developed a reddish purple thick rope like textured scar after a surgery a few years ago. I previously tried every over the counter cream and sheet and even an expensive cream from my dermatologist. Nothing worked. My scar was over three years old and I had nearly given up hope when my doctor recommended trying Scaraway sheets. After just a few days my scar was noticeably softer and after a few weeks, the itching was gone and it was flatter and less red. After 10 weeks I cannot believe the results. My scar has virtually vanished. All that is left is a faint whitish line, but it blends with my skin and is no longer raised up and thick, and no one points it out anymore. These sheets were very easy to use compared to other scar treatments I've tried. I just put it on my scar after showering and sometimes just left the sheet on for days, opting to cover it when I shower instead of taking it off like directions say to do. I am extremely pleased with this product, and thrilled to be able to wear certain clothes again after years of covering up my scar. :) My only negative is that it was hard to find, so, I'm glad I found this!

So scar, so good Apr 21, 2009
By C. Shuett I've only been using these strips for a week but already my 4 week old surgery scar has flattened tremendously. I have a huge, horizontal scar which requires two, 7 inch strips to cover it. The redness is not receding yet but it's too early to tell if it will.
The strips will not stay in place under clothing for seven days so order extras if you want to use them for the recommended 12 weeks. I can use them for about 5 days and do not take them off when I shower. I received a 10% coupon and free shipping with my first order so will use it to get more. The service was speedy with no issues.
I highly recommend ScarAway strips if you've had recent surgery. They prevent clothes from chafing your incision and literally remove the discomfort.

Amazing!!! Jun 21, 2010
By Angie I had a bilateral mastectomy 3 months ago and my dermatologist recommended these strips. Within the first 24 hours, my skin started filling in the trench-like scars. After 4 weeks, some of the skin is completely healed over. By this fall, I do not think I will have a scar at all. I HIGHLY recommend this product!

I highly recommend this product. Jul 21, 2009
By Leslie These are wonderful! They actually work. I have a large unsightly hysterectomy scar. I was looking at very expensive plastic surgery to have this removed. These have reduced the scarring, especialy the redness to a point that I will now probably not have the surgery. This is a terrific option. I would also add that these were first recommended to me by my sister, who is a nurse. She said that these are routinely given to burn patients who have significant scarring. I can see why.

Very wearable May 09, 2010

I gave this product five stars even though it hasn't been long enough to see results, because they exceeded my expectations in every other way. If it works as well as I hope, I will revise this review in a few months. I am reasonably certain that it will work, though, because several years ago I had a scar on my elbow that I flattened using medical tape from my doctor, and this seems pretty much the same.
I broke my tibia at the knee and had to have surgery to insert plates, resulting in a raised scar about 1/4" wide and just over 6" long, starting at the side of my kneecap and going down my shin. I had been protecting the scar from the sun with tape and using a scar cream, but it didn't seem to be doing much. I ordered these scar strips with some trepidation, because I wasn't sure that they would work over the knee joint, which obviously has a high degree of flexion and movement. I started using the strips about nine weeks after my surgery, when the scar was closed and had reached its full size, but was still pink/red/purple and tender.
I am very pleased with the strips. I cut a bit off the end of the first one and cut it in half longways, and it has not frayed at all. The fabric side is really smooth and doesn't catch clothes. It has a nice feel to it. The strip sticks very well to my skin, even over the knee joint, and it is really stretchy and elastic. It bends with the knee, but when my leg is straight, it doesn't cause the scar to pucker into ripples like the edge of a lasagna noodle, as did the tape. However, the strip can be removed easily and painlessly. I can't really feel it at all when it's on, either, although I do have some numbness on one side of my scar due to nerve damage. The sticky side is made out of a material that is very similar to one of those child's toys that is a little gooey octopus that you can throw at the wall and it sticks, except better. If the strip gets pulled up (which does happen if you try to slide on tight clothes that catch it), it will collect lint and dirt and will not stick. But you just wash it carefully and it goes back to being very sticky again.
I have been wearing the same strip for well over a week, anywhere from 8-20 hours per day. The directions say to gently wash it in plain soap and water, and allow to air dry. I put it fabric-side-down on a piece of paper towel, to help wick the water away from the fabric. The fabric side doesn't even have to be wholly dry before you reapply the strip. I have been swimming and have worked out several times wearing the strip, with overall good results. I found that when I was lying in the sun for a while, and started sweating, that the strip started to come off. When I swam, the first few times it stayed put, and then after a few days, it started to lose adhesion at the end over my knee, so I took it off. When I worked out I didn't sweat too much, and the strip stayed on just fine. I think that if you sweat heavily, the strip will probably not stay in place 100%, but it is certainly viable for light workouts. The only other time it came off was when I wore it to bed, and just from kicking around in the sheets, it came off halfway. Since then I have been washing it when I get ready for bed, and then put it on in the morning.
Overall I believe that these strips will flatten my scar, but it's too early to tell. I am very impressed with the stickiness and flexibility of the strips, as well as their reusability, and the feel of the fabric side. I would definitely recommend spending the money if you need a treatment strip that is more attractive and comfortable than tape, and more effective than creams. Good luck!
