Slightly disappointed Apr 20, 2009
By Jenifer Owens
"J. Owens"
I have been looking for good hand weights to take on my walks and these seemed to be perfect. I took them out for a test drive and unfortunately they are too long (lengthwise) and too fat around for my hand to comfortably grip. It became annoying to hold for a lengthy walk. I liked that they had a comfortable handle strap but the shape of the hand weight was not suited for me and I returned them. I prefer a more slender handle that I can grip comfortably while I'm walking. Unfortunately I don't think this product is good for women's smaller hands.

Too big for purpose Mar 21, 2009
By airfirehorse I originally wrote a 4-star review for these, but over time I have become disappointed with them.
I totally agree with the first reviewer who said these are too big for her hand. I think they would be too big for most hands actually. On top of that, they are too sloppy because the material doesn't do well when you sweat and the beads/sand inside travels a bit. I definitely don't enjoy running with these in my hands because they move around too much; the filler just doesn't stay still enough.
I think these hand weights should be 1.5 inches shorter (at a minimum) and at least a half inch smaller in diameter. Plus they should be either more tightly packed or filled with something that doesn't move. I only give them a 3 because I can walk with them well enough and the elastic "handle" does seem tight enough to prevent them from falling off easily.

Contour weights Jul 17, 2009
By Bonnie Mason This is an excellent product for anyone, but especially good for people with arthritis. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and the weights are comfortable to grasp and easy to work with. I became aware of them when I was in Physical Therapy for a broken wrist. The therapist has them in 1,2,and 3lb sizes. I bought the 3,4,and 5lb weights and am doing the exercises prescribed for me. I am working my way up to the 5 pounders.

Great weights! Mar 03, 2010

I love working out with weights, and these soft weights are MUCH easier on my arthritic hands.

If you're using them for kick boxing... Feb 09, 2010
By Martha C. Stewart These are great weights. The outside handles are extremely comfortable elastic and the weights, in my view, are not unduly wide (but I have average to large sized hands).
I would, however, caution anyone planning on using these for kick boxing. The bean-bag style of these makes them very comfortable for this, but because the length is quite long, as you punch, they're going to shake a little. This will give you the feeling of some sort of a connection or oomph at the end of your punch, but you may find that you feel like you're waving a shaking instrument around or something.
Still recommended for kick boxing, but just contemplate whether this is a sensation you're going to like.
