We only had this thing for a few weeks before the main support rod snapped off and turned it into a paperweight. DO NOT BUY THIS!

Sportline Mini Stepper Jun 25, 2010
By Linda I just purchased the Sportline MiniStepper at Target. Opened the box - no instructions. And there are screws loose on the thing. I can't decide if someone had it and returned it to Target and I bought 2nd hand junk - this thing is going back
The jury is in: Shoddy materials, workmanship and no durability. Nov 21, 2011
By Tristanicus I've used it for about 2 months, average 3 to 5 days a week, and 30 to 60 minutes per day and I'm disappointed at its durability. Aside from the fact that constant oiling is necessary to minimize squeaking, I also have to tighten various nuts and bolts and screws twice already, and yesterday a metal rod called the pull bar broke in half. I weigh 165 and the limit is 220 lb so my weight should not be a factor. It is just shoddy material. Called the company and was told they could send me the part to replace or bring it back to the store. I don't think it's a good idea to do it myself since there are 17 pieces of parts attached to the bar. If it breaks again I wouldn't know if it's because of the material or my reassembly. So, I opted to bring it back to the store. It's a minor hassle traveling but it least the store (a prominent national chain) has no problem with an exchange.
I set the stepper up and realize that the platform is 7" above ground (at the highest point) compared to the previous one which was, I guess, 5" (I felt it was a bit low at the time but just assumed because it's a "budget" model). It also doesn't squeak from the get go which was not the case with the previous one. Maybe I got a lemon or someone's return the first time around. I'll update this in a couple of months to see if this fares better.
4/12 Update: 5 months, constant greasing and a replacement machine later, another metal part snapped in half yesterday. So, the final verdict is don't buy this piece of garbage, a waste of money.
