Pretty good; your shoulders will thank you Aug 11, 2009
By Bun Bo Hue This review is based on two weeks of use, and I have not tried any other similar product, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I can't definitively say that this shoulder wrap is the best of its kind. Nevertheless, what I will say might help you make a wise purchasing decision.
That said, I am very satisfied with the quality, fit, and utility of this product. I have chronic shoulder pain, probably low-level rotator cuff inflamation. I've been icing my shoulder with an ice bag, every other day or so, especially after lifting weights. But without a wrap I've been having trouble balancing the bag on my shoulders.
This shoulder wrap is very helpful and it easily keeps the ice bag on my shoulder, firmly enough that I can do desk work and type on the computer (as I am doing now). The wrap comes with two velcro straps: one goes diagonally across your chest and the other around your arm. I only use the cross-chest strap and it's enough. The arm strap is kinda difficult to secure by yourself. But that's not a big deal.
Some key factors: This wrap takes both an ice bag (which it comes with) or a gel ice pack (I think, but I haven't tried it). I prefer the ice bag because I find it colder and ice is easy to get when I'm traveling. The ice bag sits directly on your body, without being encased in any other pouch. So, yeah, it can get pretty cold (which is cool, literally).
The gist: if you have chronic shoulder pain and your doctor says to ice it regularly, you need this product (or at least some version of it). Don't try to be cheap like I was. I'm glad I spent the [...] (with free shipping, woohoo).

========================== OK, folks! It's been six months and I still have rotator-cuff inflamation, so I still use my ice pack shoulder wrap every day. The good news is that the velcro straps still work great; they remain strong, secure, and have not weakened with daily use. I'm wearing it right now and the ice pack is securely on my shoulders, enought so that I can still sit here at my desk and type this review update. Also, the black neoprene-like material that encases the ice pack also appears well-made and has not deteriorated with constant use.
This baby will last years, but hopefully I won't need it that long. All in all, a great purchase.
You're probably wondering why I bothered to update this? Well, I SUPPORT great companies that make great products. This way the crap products go out of business, hopefully.

Works exactly as it should Nov 17, 2007

There's not much to this - what you see is what you get. I am pretty active for my age (47) and had shoulder surgery last year to repair a sports injury. Gel packs don't get a cold as ice and don't stay cold as long if kept in a home freezer, so a real ice bag is best I think. This also allows you the option to partially fill with water, which allows the bag to conform to the area of application better. The neoprene wrap is well designed and has plenty of adjustment. An excellent, functional product - would definitely buy again.

Does the job Apr 22, 2008
By D. Graded I wish I had purchased this product shortly after shoulder surgery. I used freezer bags and tape before I found this product. I bought it recently and I am pleased with it. It offers compression and holds the ice in place. I would recommend this to anyone with shoulder issues, since ice brings down the swelling. The only thing that may be better is the upgraded version with two ice packs.

Works Great Mar 21, 2008
By J. Glover I am recovering from Rotator/Labrum Surgery. This ice wrap works great. I just go to our icemaker, add a bit of water and it is ready. The velco straps allow you to adjust for comfort and it stays on your shoulder with no problems. You can also adjust how cold you want the wrap to be be adjusting how much water you add.

Excellent Product Sep 02, 2008

I have had shoulder problems for a while and icing my shoulder has been a constant problem. This is the answer. Easy to use and the ice pack works much better than the frozen packs from the store. The velcro is not too difficult to use by yourself and once you get it on you can adjust it easily.
