It works for me Nov 26, 2010
By mxgo I used it in conjunction with acupuncture treatments by an acupuncturist. The device correctly identified the acupuncture points that the acupuncturist was using to to treat my chronic headaches. In between treatments, it lowered my pain level.
I also used it to identify other meridians that deal with headaches with these two books: "Acupuncture Potent Points" by Michael Reed Gach and "The Encyclopedia of Healing Points" by Roger Dalet, MD. Both are sold by Amazon. Remember, that there are various theories about which points treat various illnesses. I had one acupuncturist tell that and in trying other acupuncturists, I have found that to be true. So that is why I bought two books.
I mostly used acupressure, instead of using the stimulator function of the device.
One note for any person contemplating buying such a device, once the device has located an acupuncture point, feel around the immediate area for the area that hurts the most. It should be within an inch or so. That is what the acupuncturist did to identify the most potent area to treat.
Now for the bad news, the device is little twitchy and at times lights up even if there is no nearby acupuncture point. Unfortunately, a month after I bought the device, I dropped it and it no longer works.
Overall, I would recommend buying the device. As to the stimulator function, I really do not know if it helped, since I preferr to use acupressure.
This same device can be bought for at a lower price at other websites. Too bad, I like dealing with Amazon.

It almost work Dec 29, 2010
By Patrick Prud Homme I was looking for such a device mainly for locating acupuncture points. At first it has worked fine but after a while I had contact problems. Using it one should be aware that this could change depending on dryness of the skin may be or oxydation of the tip i am not sure. You still can use it changing the detection power.

Pointer plus Apr 06, 2011
By axleman This is the second Pointer Plus that I have owned. I wore out the first one. I do wish the nine volt batteries lasted longer, but it is probably because I don't realize how much I use it.

Wonderfu product Jan 22, 2012
By Janet This item has some good reviews and bad. I do not have any problem with item at all. This is the perfect item to help one self stay pain free. I did have a licensed person show me the proper way to use it. It is very easy to use and I was totally surprised that the battery's last a very long time. I use it almost every day and have had no problems at all with it using up the battery. I would recommend this item to any one who has low back pain or wrist and hand pain from being on the computer a lot. It also helps on loosening up tight muscles. Very good item. Please note do not use on anyone with any metal in there body. Can not be used on anyone with heart problems.
