Labeling trickery: Autolyzed yeast ingredient--another name for MSG Feb 18, 2011
By Carolina Please note that this product while listing organic ingredients also lists AUTOLYZED YEAST EXTRACT an alternate name for D-glutamate or MSG. Is autolyzed yeast extract organic? I don't know, I don't know the defintion of organic for food labeling, but this is food labeling trickery.
Pacific Natural Foods Organic Beef Broth Ingredients Organic beef stock (water, organic beef), Organic beef flavor base (organic roasted beef including beef juices, organic cane juice, organic beef flavor, organic onion powder, sea salt, organic canola oil, caramel color, organic garlic powder, organic black pepper, organic paprika, flavor), Sea salt, Autolyzed yeast extract, Organic garlic powder
Of course it tastes good. Autolyzed yeast extract is a flavor enhancer. I am still looking for a commercially made broth that does not have MSG or one of its other forms/names. You may want to check out the [...].[...] website for more information than I have listed here.
I for one will not buy it again, sorry. Please clean up your product, Pacific.

Excellent beef broth Jul 03, 2010
By Constance My husband and I absolutely love this beef broth. I use it in my cooking. And I also heat this up in the microwave if I want to make a quick bowl of noodle soup (I just add some cooked noodles and other cooked ingredients to the broth). It is extremely flavorful - we always drink all the broth!
Excellent Beef Stock Jun 23, 2011
By A. C. Chitwood This is a very flavorful beef stock. It is USDA certified organic, which is nice. It can be a little more expensive than other beef broths in the same format. I have found that it is much lower in sodium than those others though, at least the ones carried at my local grocery stores.
If you are concerned about MSG sensitivity, you should be aware of all of the possible names on labeling, and read labeling very carefully. The wikipedia page has a list of allowed USDA names for MSG. Since my family isn't MSG sensitive this isn't a concern for us.
I recommend this broth, assuming you are not sensitive to MSG.
living gluten free Oct 30, 2010
By S. Green I live gluten and soy free and this broth is wonderful. Use to buy it in the store. It was cheaper to buy in the bulk (surprise-not). I would recommend this broth to anyone.
