Finally a way not to spend $300 to determine ovulation. This unit works and costs nothing compared to the urine tests.
I used the Ovulite for 60 days and I am expecting in October of this year.

After some researching on ovulation kits, my husband and I settled on this one. First of all, it is completely reuseable. This was hugely attractive since I am so irregular that my doctor wondered if I had ever ovulated. I would have spent a fortune on the urine tests which only come 7 or 9 in a package because I wouldn't have known which days to test.
Also, this is extremely easy to use and the directions are easy to understand and follow. Basically the principle as I understand it is that in your dried saliva when you are ovulating is a ferning pattern which you can see through this device. It is amazing....they have a picture on the box and when you see what looks like a mess of pine tree on the slide...you know it is positive.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this machine....I would recommend also purchasing either lens tissue or one of those microfiber cloths that you might use to clean a camera lens or glasses with. It helps you to make sure that you've cleaned the slide well in between days to see the results accurately.
Try it if you want to get pregnant....for someone who never thought it could be possible....I am now a proud mommy!

Very easy to use, and to my knowledge it's pretty accurate.
Now, what is not mentioned anywhere is that it also can predict pregnancy. If 5-10 days after ovulation you still keep getting the same rich fern pattern, you probably are pregnant. I've thought it should work this way, but never had a chance to prove my idea untill recently. Happy to tell, I was correct!

It was hard to choose a particular brand of saliva microscopes and I'm glad Ovulite was my choice!
It's small and practical, you can turn the eyepiece to better focus and the green LED light makes it really easy to see the fern-like patterns.
The fact that they offer a toll-free 24/7 helpline is great!!! I used it once and they were really helpfull!
The only things I didn't like about it were:
1. it was a little disappointing to open it see that it came with a tiny scratch on the eyepiece, but it didn't prevent me from clearly seeing the result. The whole eyepiece looks very fragile... I was always afraid of breaking it.
2. it doesn't come with anything to clean the slide with... ended up using a q-tip to clean it.
I used the microscope the whole month of April and am glad to say that thanks to Ovulite it was a breeze to pinpoint my best fertile days and just found out that I'M PREGNANT!!!! :)

I have only used this product for 1 month but it works very well and is accurate. I was not charting my temperature this month but I did notice fertile cervical fluid the same day that Ovulite gave me the very fertile fern pattern. I have noticed also though that on another ovulation scope manufacturer's website that some women have a secondary estrogen surge just before/after their period starts so this may also give a strong fern pattern during your period. I had the same thing happen to me the day before my period showed up. I am not trying to conceive just yet but trying to figure out approximately when I ovulate so I will be prepared for later.
