 Better value than the face wash Dec 18, 2008

This is basically the same as the Neutrogena face wash -- a 2% salcylic (sp?) acid formulation. You can save a bit of money by using this instead -- I just refill the face wash pump dispenser with the body wash.
Nice smell, does a great job at keeping acne at bay. I use it daily and have seen a marked improvement. Note that it can irritate some people's skin, so go slow at first (perhaps use it only once every other day) until you see how your skin reacts to it. Also, don't get it in your eyes -- it really stings!

Good product, leaves skin clean and not to dry Apr 27, 2010

This is a good product been using it for a few days and it works well, I would recommend it to anyone with body blemishes. This product however is not the only reason for my review, I have had a breakthrough with my body acne and I have to let people know so they can see if it works for their problem like it did me. First I have to tell you that I have had very bad body acne, especially on my back, shoulders and neck, but the worst is my back. I have been using all kinds of products and body washes with only minimal success for 4 years.
The other day before getting in bed I was thinking and what popped in my head was something I heard while reading about body acne and heat rashes (since I get both), I remember reading that clothing can irritate skin and make acne and rashes worse and it occurred to me that I am wearing clothing every hour of the day except when in the shower because I wear shirts even when sleeping, so I thought, that's probably a lot of irritation on already sensitive skin. So I figured what the heck I'll try sleeping without a shirt for a few days and see what happens since I have tried literally every thing else. Three days later I kid you not 50% of my entire body acne disappeared! I was SHOCKED, and that's an understatement, After 5 days all the acne that was spread all over my entire back is 90% gone only thing remaining is little darkish spots where the old pimples were that are now healing up! Not only that but the acne on my shoulders and neck is almost completely gone too. This is such a breakthrough that I HAD to get on here and tell my fellow bacne sufferers about this so they see if it helps them too. If you wear shirts while sleeping, try sleeping shirtless for a week just to see what happens I bet you will be amazed. This may be mildly more difficult for woman (for obvious reasons) but for you lady's, maybe try sleeping in a sports bra or something of the like.

I have always used this product and I definitely believe it works. I had mild to moderate acne on my back and shoulders for a while, but since I have started using this product I don't any problems at all with breakouts. I love the smell and I think the three pack is excellent value for your money. Highly recommended!

Background: I have gone through multiple anti-acne OTC (over the counter) and prescription treatments: including most washes (salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide), pads (ex. Stridex), on the spot treatments, the Proactive system, the Zeno device, Differin (adapalene gel), Tazorac Cream (tazarotene - a retinoid), medical facials & peels, and the big gun - Accutane (isotretinoin). Nowadays I'm happy to say my acne is no longer a major issue. I attribute this to years of research, trial and error with my skin type, many $$$ at the dermatologist, and the drug Accutane (knowing what I do now about the drug I DO NOT recommend it unless you have no other choice or are going in to the modelling business).
I have been using Neutrogena's Body Clear - Body Wash for at least 4 or 5 years now. This is the best long-term/maintenance OTC salycilic wash I have found in my 10 years of acne-combat experience. The only wash that I liked better was purchased from my dermatologist's office and that was $30 for a bottle 2/3rds this size.
Where to begin? This product works. It's not a cure for acne - nothing is. But it does something that is the most important step in your battle with acne: helps prevent it. Once your acne has formed, it can take a week or longer for it to heal. Preventing it from forming means it never reaches the stage where it becomes noticeable, bothersome and painful.
Tips:
- Don't buy acne face washes unless this product is too strong (see below), they're exactly the same thing as this except in a smaller, more expensive bottle.
- If you find this is drying your skin, use less and leave it on your skin for less time.
- Use in the shower while your pores are open.
- Always pat-dry your face.
- Always follow with Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture, Sensitive Skin, 4 Ounce or similar. There are multiple moisturizers in that line to suite your skin type: sensitive, combination, sun-protection - etc.
- Do not wash more than twice per day (with any acne products). It will upset your skin's pH balance and will likely do more harm than good.

I had, emphasis on 'had' bacne, facne you name it i had it. i used this poduct for showering and it works. Thank God because nothing is more unattractive than wearing a tank top with a dozen or more zits popping out, actually there are quite a few more unattractive things out there but that is also one of them. i use the clinique line for my face but that is a different post all together...but for the first time in my life well, since 14 years old with that first zit on my nose to now 31...i can safely say i have found my combination of things that actually work...so its neutrogena body clear body wash for my body and clinique number 3 system for my face....ofcourse it only took me 17 years to get it but i'm glad i finally did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
