Barely satisfactory Nov 18, 2009
By Camille Casey HAve had this walker less than 1 month, already brakes not working. Compared to my last 3 wheel walker, it is less durable. The metal collapsing bar is thinner metal and was broken by a strong person who forced it shut the wrong way. This said the included basket (and pouch)are invaluable and actually add strength to the walker. My last 3 wheel was a Guardian Envoy 380. It was more durable. The handles were more secure, the larger diameter bars fit better in their components, so it was less rattley than the new one.The brakes were of higher quality; they never broke. I used this walker for about one year and a half before the frame broke at a weld. But the big drawback for the guardian envoy was no included basket or pouch and no welded hooks to hang a basket from. When a basket is attatched to the welded hooks on the new walker it is impossible for it to collapse. I weigh less than 100 pounds, but I walk a lot and quickly- 1/2 to 1 mile per day. So I put a lot of wear and tear on my walker. Hope this helps in your choice as there are a lot of options out there.

Freedom at last Jan 06, 2009

"OBXYANK"
My Mom is disabled in CA. We live in NC. Her standard walker had so many restrictions for her small apartment that it made just getting a cup of coffee difficult. The walker's 2 little wheels in front required that she lift the entire walker to make a U-turn.
This rollator was easy to put together. Took about 5 minutes. The basket and tray in front are a Godsend. Mom can actually do some housework and empty the dishwasher or bring her dinner into the livingroom using the basket and/or tray.
Ironically, one of the best features is the vinyl bag that hangs securely between the handlebars. In earthquake prone CA, Mom keeps essentials in there (back-up medicine, phone, even slippers).
Mom's favorite feature: the wheels. Large rubbery wheels that don't get hung up. The 3 wheeled rollator is easy to maneuver too. Gets her into places she could not go before. Her words now, "I can go backwards and turn without lifting anything". I took her to the doctor's the day after she received this product. We had to navigate cobblestone walkways and the wheels did a great job. She adapted to her new wheels quickly.
Perhaps a four wheeler would provide more stability, but she is confined to the apartment for the most part and she definitely prefers this. And besides, it's cute, especially in red. She doesn't feel like she's in a hospital. She named it "Chity-Chitty-Bang-Bang". She can turn it around in front of the couch and eat her dinner off the tray.
The handles are easy on the hands, no more callouses. The brakes work quite simply with the palm of the hand (not requiring gripping). The only thing I would recommend is that the brakes were on all three wheels rather than two. For the price, this was a super gift for Mom - the gift of comfort, freedom, security and dignity. She loves it!!!!

Mom Loves it! Jan 15, 2011
By Vonnie from Valley Stream, New York It is easy to walk with and mom loves that she can carry all her stuff in the basket and in the bag. She also loves the size of it. It is small enough to go in the bathroom with her and in tight spaces. At first she was afraid to walk with it because of the wheels, she stated that it was rolling to fast for her, but when I taught her how to use the brakes and steer it she's a pro and now she loves it.

I wanted it for travel Nov 10, 2011
By Dave I have this 4-wheeled Hugo walker for use inside the house, but it is a little difficult to fold and load into the car. I wanted something that I could leave in the car all of the time. That's why I bought this little thing.
Some impressions of the Nova, and how it compares to the Hugo: - The Nova is a little lower at it's maximum height. A little low for me. - It has a smaller footprint than the Hugo, so it's a little more maneuverable. - The Nova has smaller tubing. (Not as strong?) - The Nova's handlebars are about 6" closer together than the Hugo's. - The Nova isn't as stable laterally as the 4-wheeled Hugo. - The Nova is easier to fold / collapse than the Hugo. - The Nova's basket and tray are quite small. - The Nova (with its bag) would be better for carrying an oxygen bottle. - Assembly was quite easy. No tools required. - There is some "play" where the chrome handlebars slide into the tubing. It's not a solid or immovable joint, in other words.
I'll use this three-wheeled Nova only to get some convenience and portability while I'm away from home - but I'll be giving up some stability and a little quality.
UPDATE: I'm not happy with this Nova as a travel walker. It just isn't high enough. The product description says "Approximate patient height - 5'4"- 6'0"". Well, I'd say the tallest a person could be would be 5'11" for this unit. I might give it to a petite person. I'll get another 4-wheeler for the car.

LIGHT, STURDY, AGILE, FOLDS TO PUT IN CAR Mar 23, 2010
By Jack Thompson The walker does exactly what it's described to do, and does it well. There were cheaper models I looked at for my wife, but this one fit the bill perfectly. NOVA "Traveler" 4900 3-Wheel Walker, Black
