Worth it to me... and not like Bactine Sep 27, 2010
By Jennifer M Price I've been shopping on Amazon for many years now have never been "wowed" enough by a product to actually take time to right a review. Yes, this product is a bit expensive but it's been worth it to me. Viroxyn is the only product that I've ever tried that actually helped decrease the healing time of a cold sore. I've used it 3 times in the past year. Each time I caught my cold sore at a different stage of development and every time it's helped get rid of the pain, took away the swelling and let me bypass the horrible cracking/scabbing stage (you know the one where you're afraid to smile cause you might start bleeding.) That makes it worth the price in my opinion.
Other reviews claim that it's the same thing as drugstore antiseptic sprays like Bactine. I checked and yes, they have the same basic ingredients. After seeing that with my own eyes I decided to try it and I found that using Bactine did not have the same effect. With Viroxyn i use one application and that's all i need to start healing. After 4 days and multiple applications of Bactine I didn't see any difference other than a slight decrease in swelling right after I used it and a very temporary numbing.
Everyone is different, i don't think there is such a thing as one product that works perfectly for all people. However, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST that if you've tried everything else out there that you give this product a try. I'm so glad I did.

Higher priced, but worth every penny! Mar 27, 2012

5 YEARS WITHOUT A COLD SORE!!! The secret I believe is in applying the product at the very first itchy, tingling symptoms BEFORE BLISTERS START TO FORM. Apply treatment until applicator is completely dry. If you wait until the appearance of a blister, it won't prevemt the outbreak, but according to other reviews, it does greatly lessen the length of it. Give it a try!

IT WORKS!! Oct 30, 2011

I try to use this as soon as I notice I am starting to break out on my lips.
IT PUTS A DEAD STOP to it getting bigger and creating more blisters.
I will usually use it once and then another vial in 12 hours or so, just for good measure.
Wish they sold in packs of 4! Expensive but worth it!

Great product for those with fever blisters Feb 09, 2011
By Joshua Carpenter I've used prescription drugs of various sorts and this product is by far the best I've found. It may seem expensive for a single dose, but I've paid over $100 for a prescription of 5 pills taken over a 5-day period and only reduced the duration of the cold sore by a couple of days. If you apply this product at the first sign of an outbreak - the burning/tingling sensation that you get before the blister appears - then you may even prevent the sore from appearing altogether. This is a must-have-on-hand product if you suffer from fever blisters.

New Viroxyn Professional Apr 17, 2008
By S. Anderson This new product was just made available. The Benzocaine in the product will numb the area before you apply the Viroxyn. There are also all new expiration dates of 12/2010 on all the Viroxyn Professional products.
