I've reviewed this product before, and I use it for sleep after going to rehab for alcohol and drugs (all of them). I am also finding it useful here at a writer's retreat. It seems to counteract the social anxiety I assume I got from my use of narcotics. I love this stuff!

I take Valerian root to help me sleep at night and turn off my overactive mind. I like this brand a lot, here's why.
The bottle is big and lasts a long time.
The capsules are clear and you can see the Valerian Root. They're strong and don't break in bottle. Easy to swallow.
Smells strong like herbs, has a very distinct scent you grow accustom to. Tastes like herbs as well. Kind of a bitter herb to me, but they're swallowed so it's only for a second while they're on your tongue.
It says to take three on the bottle an hour before bed. I agree, take them at least an hour before you want to go to sleep so they get into your system. They do not make you drowsy and it's not like a sleeping pill that you can feel it start to work and make you tired. It's more of a calming feeling and maybe just takes edge off - at least for me.
If you have a cocktail, which I don't think you're supposed to mix, it will knock you out quick. I don't recommend this at all.
I had surgery a few months ago and Valerian was on the list of items that I could not have a week before and a week after, so talk to your doctor about if you can take this even though it's over the counter. It does not supposed to be mixed with some medicines. SO BE CAREFUL!
Since I'm not on any medications, I like this product and will continue to order it and use it.

I have been using formula 303 for a few years now to treat my insomnia and muscle cramps. I tried this stuff last night and it worked just as good as formula 303, at a lower price too. It smells like the outhouse on a tuna boat, but it works.

Valerian root is the greatest herbal stress reliever I have ever used & I've used it for years. It soothes & calms the nerves without any side effects.

I find that I get a solid night's sleep after a hectic day at work when I take 2 of these. It relaxes me gradually as I take it an hour before bed. Excellent product.
