Seems to work, A bit messy Aug 08, 2010
By HappyMommy Stretch marks run in my family. I used this religiously with my first pregnancy and didn't get stretch marks until 10 days before the due date, when they just all popped up at once. But I never had "itchy belly" problems.
Second pregnancy I didn't use it at all, and got a lot more stretch marks and did often have an itchy belly. I probably should have used it.
Only complaint is that the oil discolored my white shirts a little.
Beautiful, delicate citrus scent.

Oil + butter = no stretch marks Sep 19, 2008
By Keira Reed I started using Palmer's early in my pregnancy and got stretch marks on my breast at about 3 months (almost immediately after my size increased a little bit).
After that I decided to go for more expensive products, and bought Mama Mio: oil, butter, and boob tube. I've used oil and butter twice a day on my belly, breasts, and thighs (and occasionally, boob tube). I'm now 9 months pregnant and have an amazing nice belly with no stretch marks whatsoever and no new scars on my boobs (that btw got bigger for 2.5 sizes in the last months). All this time I've enjoyed using Mama Mio -- they are truly moisturizing and feel great on my skin.

Another oil + butter recommendation Oct 10, 2011
By Lou I am the last person to review products, but I have to add my own input about this amazing product. I too got stretch marks during a growth spurt in puberty, and fully expected to get more during pregnancy. Not so! As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I lathered from shoulder to hips in Mama Mio, twice a day, using both the oil and the butter, and my skin remained supple, smooth, and completely free of pregnancy stretch marks. I will say that I used extraordinarily generous helpings, and probably got through a bottle of oil a month. I also kept my weight gain to within the recommended guidelines (25 lbs, gained slowly and steadily) plus I drank plenty of water and coconut water to further aid hydration. At the very least, Mama Mio staves off itchiness as your belly grows, and is safer than the mineral-based oils that contain parabens etc.

Seems to handle stretch marks better than lotion! Sep 07, 2011
By C. Pittman I am expecting my first child, and at the beginning of this pregnancy used a lotion specifically for stretch marks. I decided to look for something new, specifically something with less chemicals and more natural moisturizers. I came across the Mama Mio Tummy Rub Oil and decided to give it a try.
I seemed to avoid stretch marks for most of this pregnancy until around the start of the third trimester. My belly seems bigger than a lot of other pregnant women's bellies at this stage, so the tummy rub oil had a *big* task ahead of it! While it hasn't prevented any marks, I would definitely agree that it has made them less severe than they would have otherwise been. The oil hydrates my skin so well, is not overly greasy, and rarely does the belly get so dry that it itches. It doesn't have what I would call a fantastic scent, but it's not offensive, either. I use it only on my belly and hips, but for some reason (maybe or maybe not related to the product) I seem to break out when I use it on my legs.
I enjoyed this product so much that I bought a new one when my first ran out, and I included one in my friend's goody box who is expecting her first child in January. I will continue to use this after I deliver. They say that genetics, not the use of special lotions/oils, determines how many stretch marks you get. However, I am willing to put my odds on the Mama Mio Tummy Rub Oil to keep my skin looking healthy after pregnancy :o)
