This necklace arrived quickly and was well packaged. Unfortunately the chain was too small to fit over my husband's head and did not have a clasp, and there was no way to remove the tag to put it on a different chain. It would have been nice to know this before ordering. He carries the necklace in his pocket but that's not quite what I had in mind.

NICE MEDAL,BUT THE CHAIN IS TO SMALL.ADULTS NEED A SMALL HEAD AND A SMALL NOSE TO WEAR IT.I CONVERTED MINE TO MY KEY CHAIN.

I am very pleased with the product and delivery I have received. Only suprise was the heart shaped candy enclosed with the product which was not marked as sugar free or diabetic. Suc=h items are not warranted.

In product description, the chain length needs to be given as well as metal and guage of both chain and tag, and options for engraving details need to be given as well. The red emblem is not part of the tag but is adhered and raised up which could prove an irritant to skin from abrasion, or catch on clothing and snag clothing. I have chosen not to buy this Apex brand product because of these defects. The origianl Medic Alert brand chains were perfect- made of smooth, heavy guage, durable stainless steel, with a 28" chain, with all medic information engraved.

I like that the pendant is simple and plain. It's also quite flat, so I can wear it under my shirt and expect it not to be really noticed.
I notice other reviewers describe it as being pre-set to indicate type 2 diabetes. In fact, it simply says "DIABETIC" on the back, and below the words are two dots. I don't believe these dots are intended to be indicative of anything, I believe they're the rivets that hold the red symbol onto the front of the pendant.
It doesn't appear to be stainless steel. It looks to be some other metal plated with a shiny coating (which could be a thin layer of steel). I say this because mine arrived with a bit of the surface scratched off near the ring that holds it to the chain, and the scratched area has turned black.
The chain is simple and unbroken - no clasp. I have a relatively large head and can put the necklace on over my head easily enough if I remove my glasses. However, some people may have difficulty. I make jewelry so I may choose to cut the chain and install a clasp, but I recognize most people don't have these tools and parts on hand.
Some people have reported immediate problems with corrosion of the chain or it leaving marks on the skin. I perspire excessively and it hasn't shown either of these problems on me.
Overall, I think it's a reasonable quality item for its low price and I'm happy enough with it and plan to wear it sometimes when I don't feel like wearing my bracelet. If you're looking for a cheap diabetic medical alert necklace, I think it's just fine.
