Only a few fancy features, bit incredibly accurate readings Jan 21, 2007
By Phlogiston I've bought a few of these products and some, the wrist models mostly, require one to hold one's arm in odd positions. Others don't give reliable readings. I've tested this one with my home nurse and it is always precise. Also, you can set the maximum pressure so it doesn't get too tight. The cuff's design makes it extremely easy to put on because the loop is preset and it needs only be adjusted. Granted, it doesn't have fancy features like remembering blood pressures, but one need only write these down. It also doesn't have a plug. It operates exclusively off of batteries, but this is easier anyway.
After trying several frustrating models and getting inaccurate readings from automatic readers while I have been in hospitals, I was elated to find this simple, accurate blood pressure monitor. It isn't fancy, but the fancier ones that I have purchased have never been so accurate, and the last thing that a monitor should do is frustrate its owner and raise his blood pressure!
If you want accuracy, go for this one!

A Happy LifeSource BP Monitor customer May 12, 2007
By Marc L. Davis I was very hesitant in placing an order for this Blood Pressure Monitor since I've only seen it "online". However I over came my hesitancy and placed the order. Upon reciept AND first use I was extremely pleased AS was my nurse trained partner AND even more importantly the glowing report that we got from the Visiting Nurses who we had at the time. They both commented that we really couldn't have done better...at least for the price... It was just what we needed. AND comparing the read-outs with the Monitor the Visiting Nurses were using they were almost exact matches in Pressurs and puls readings.
A five star "product" that I would recommend for ALL home use for those that need to take their own Blood Pressure with confidence.

blood pressure monitor is great Jan 20, 2007
By C. Stuper I took it to the doctor's office and had the nurse take my blood pressure with her equipment and then she tried mine several times; the numbers were not exactly the same but close enough; so now I know I can easily track my blood pressure at home! This is a great home health aid. Thank you AMAZON!!

Just what the Dr ordered! Sep 22, 2007
By D. Oliver This Blood Pressure Monitor was just what I needed. It seems very accurate when being compared to when my BP is taken at the Drs office. My only regret was that I did not have it shipped more quickly.

An excellent product May 02, 2008
By Jerry Saperstein My old Lifesource BP monitor was, I thought, a bit worse for wear and so I ordered anothert blood pressure monitor made by another company. (Prevention DS-1902PV Auto-Inflate Blood Pressure Monitor) A warning: do not ever purchase anything under the Prevention or Mark of Fitness brand. The Prevention unit was horrible. The first one gave wildly inflated and inconsistent readings and constantly warned me of heart irregularities. A replacement unit did the same. The company has offered to provide a third replacement, but I grew tired of the obviously poor Prevention and Mark of Fitness products, so I ordered a new Lifesource unit.
The readings are dead-on accurate. The Lifesource unit also has an irregular heartbeat feature. I tried this and the Prevention unit apart. The Lifesource unit did not show an irregular heartbeat, while the Prevention unit once again did - as well as a vastly higher BP reading.
The Lifesource unit no longer comes packed with a carrying case, which I consider to be a minus, but it does include an AC adapter, which is a plus. There's a little scale on the side to indicate the level of your hypertension, which is useless, I think since you wouldn't be monitoring your blood pressure if you didn't already know you were somewhere on the hypertensive scale. So the scale neither adds nor detracts from the unit.
Lifesource offers everything you could ask for in a blood pressure monitor. It is easy to use. It is very accurate. And it is covered by a lifetime warranty, a fact that I had forgotten with regard to my old unit.
Lifesource customer service is responsive and helpful.
Altogether a wonderful package and far better than the units distributed by Mark of Fitness under the Prevention brand.
Jerry
