Tastier and less caloric than other breakfast bars of its size Jan 07, 2008
By finaidgrrl I've never been a fan of "energy bars" or "breakfast bars," but I'm hooked on Kashi GoLean Crunchy caramel bars. I eat one every day for breakfast and often have another after dinner in place of dessert.
While other breakfast bars are either too small to satify you until lunch or too caloric/sugary to justify their status as a "health food," GoLean Crunchy caramel bars are substantial at 45 grams apiece and truly low-cal at 150 calories.
Best of all, these bars do not taste like chemicals but, rather, like a healthy (high-fiber, high-protein) version of a chocolate-dipped rice krispie treat. All GoLean Crunchy flavors are excellent, but the Peanut Butter and Almond versions pack a few more calories (180 and 170, respectively) than their caramel cousin.
Don't be fooled by other breakfast bars that can't offer *both* good taste and low calories (there are plenty of "healthy" breakfast bars that run upwards of 300 calories each). GoLean bars are the real deal -- great-tasting and healthy.

Even my 3 yr olds will eat this! Oct 03, 2007
By Twinsboystwice This flavor has less calories than some of the others, and is a bit like a rice crispy treat with a layer of chocolate. Lighter tasting than other bars and still 9g protein, 6g fiber and 20% calcium. A nice, healthy, quick snack for the whole family.

Health snack for me and my kids Jan 19, 2007
By Where's-the-Sun? It's hard to find a power bar that is actually healthy or at least low in fat and sugar. This one fits the bill, my boys love it and they are difficult to please. The only downer is, we like to put power bars in our pockets while we ski for a quick filling snack out on the slopes. Unfortunately, this one (our favorite) gets too hard to bite into! Don't let it get too cold!

My favorite Kashi bars... Oct 13, 2011
By Linda Kay These are my favorite Kashi bars and I can't always find them in stores. I like them because they have a nice amount of protein and fiber and don't feel heavy in my stomach. I keep them in my car glove box and my gym bag. They range between $1.25 to $1.75 a piece in stores. You get 24 in this box/case jorder and that's under a dollar a bar the last time I checked the price. Works for me!
