Perfect fit - Great Price Jan 27, 2010

After using my Braun Thermo Scan Plus for several years, I was due to purchase more lens filters. The thought of searching aimlessly through Wal-Mart or a drug store looking for these filters sent chills down my spine (I hate shopping for items that are difficult to find). The price through Amazon was very competitive. These filters fit my older model of ear thermometer perfectly and I received the shipment quickly. The box of the filters also still fits easily inside the storage base for the Thermo Scan. I was very happy w/ the purchase.

These do a great job. I find you can even reuse them a few times (same person, same illness). The box fits nicely inside the thermometer.

I bought a Braun thermometer that requires (strongly suggests) that you use one of these every time you take a temperature. So, while I was at it, I bought two of these packs, only to find out that the Braun comes with one pack of 40.
This should teach me a lesson, but it probably won't. Read "What's In The Box" when making a purchase. It's just my wife and myself now, and if we have to take a temperature 40 times in the next 3 years, I'd be amazed. And, to be honest, if we had a day where we took one or the others' temperature even 3 or 4 times, we probably wouldn't change the filter until the next day.
Maybe if I had ear hair like Frodo Baggins, okay. Otherwise, uh, uh.

I like these mostly because I like my Braun temperature reader so much. They are made of very thin plastic, and are easy to put on and throw away when you're done. I cheat and keep the same plastic end on there until my kid is done being sick. Doctors who see multiple patients or school nurses would of course be changing all the time, but for the average family it's much less frequent. That's why this 40 pack is probably going to last me for years to come... which makes it an even better purchase for me!

Works fine. They recommend you change the filter after each ear but, you'd go through these too fast. I reuse them if they don't get dirty, and they usually don't. Otherwise, they protect the thermometer from getting earwax in the sensor causing inaccurate reads.
