1It's a scam!!!!  Mar 12, 2010
By Luciana Pastro "baby butterfly"
I bought the test because I read online that it was over 90% accurate. I am a very organized and meticulous person and I am 100% sure I performed the test correctly. I did the test when I was 12 weeks and the result was very clear that I was having a boy. When I went for my ultrasound at 17 weeks, what was my surprise when the doctor told us that we were having a little girl! When I mentioned to my doctor that I had done the test, he laughed and said that those tests are 50% chances since you can either have a boy or a girl. Bottom line: don't spend your money with this silly test. Instead, save it and when you find out what you're having use that money to buy something beautiful for you little one.

1Its 100% accurate 50% of the time.  Sep 29, 2010

If you are considering buying this, do a little experiment real quick. Click on the 5 star reviews and read them. Every single one of them, at the time I am writing this, says that Intelligender accurately predicted they are having a BOY. None of them say it accurately predicted a girl. Now click on the 1 star reviews. Many of them says Intelligender predicted a BOY, but they are having a girl. You do the math.

12X Wrong Prediction  Aug 31, 2008
By cprdoug
What a wonderful idea!? Well, I bought 2 of these -- both said BOY -- and I had a GIRL!
I made sure I read all the instructions and followed them as best I could. I tried the 2nd one 3 weeks after the first one. There was no mistaking the result said Boy.

Don't waste the $....wait until your 20-week ultrasound.

4Wrong for me, but not a scam  Feb 04, 2012
By Rebecca N
I researched all the gender prediction kits pretty extensively before purchasing intelligender for myself. I finally purchased 2 kits directly from the company.

The reason I decided this was not complete bunk is because if you search around, there are actually a few videos of talk shows that try to see if Intelligender works, and they have like 10 women in the audience who already know gender taking the test. And in those cases, the test seems to be right 70-80% of the time. And I've seen that consistently in the handful of "let's see if this really works" videos across the web. Go search for yourself. Anyway, 70% is not such a hot statistic. If 10 people try it, that's 3 wrong results. And those people are more likely to be vocal and come write reviews.

That said, even though the company is very hush-hush about the science, I really do think that they are testing for some hormone that is correlated with the sex of the baby. Probably testosterone, but maybe something else. The say on their web site that it is NOT a PH test - even though that's the common myth floating around. They say to test at 10 weeks, and that's when a baby boy will start producing his own testosterone (so say my baby books). But of course, women naturally still produce some testosterone, so it's not an exact science. But I would bet the test basically tests for a testosterone level, and if the level is a bit higher than average, it turns green, otherwise it doesn't. And that's going to work for some women correctly, but women with naturally low levels of testosterone might get a false girl results and women with high levels might get a false boy results. But a woman with totally normal levels will probably get the right answer. At least that's what I believe after obsessing about this for weeks.

So, I did buy the two tests, and I did take them at 8 weeks (I knew it was sort of too early, but wanted to see anyway) and again at 11 weeks. The tests were kind of fun to take. Both results said boy with a dark green - no mistaking that, but I knew it wasn't conclusive. However, I had a CVS last week (essentially 100% accurate), and I'm definitely having a girl. So intelligender was wrong for me. But I really do think it's because I'm in the 30% who get wrong results, I haven't had perfectly regular cycles and maybe I just have a naturally higher testosterone level. I can believe that.

Also - for the record, Intelligender gets an A- from the Better Business Bureau, and that's not bad! Go look it up. Meanwhile, for reference, tellmepinkorblue gets and F from the BBB. Intelligender does respond to complaints and issues.

So should you get Intelligender?
- If you would like to have a probability shift from 50-50 and won't be a mess to know "Ok, 70% likely it's a boy, but 30% it's a girl" instead of being told definitively "It's a boy" or "It's a girl" then sure!

Don't get it if:
- As far as I can tell, skip Intelligender if you've had an irregular period or any kind of hormonal issues. It is most likely to give you an incorrect results.
- You will be devastated or crushed or furious if you get a wrong results. Because almost 1 in 3 women will.

Good luck!

1Not for real...  Sep 14, 2009
By Bethany Paterno
I took this test at 12 weeks- turned girl. Had ultra sound at 21 weeks- for sure a baby boy. I think there is a 50/50 chance that what it picks is right so its pointless to get. No more accuate than your own guess.
