Great "occasional" cane Oct 29, 2009
By R. Chiu I have a chronic hip pain that ever so often would get really bad that I would need the assistance of a cane. Although it doesn't happen often, but when it does, there's not much prior warning. Because it doesn't happen often, it is not necessary for me to carry a cane with me all the time, but since I like to be prepared for whenever the pain decides to return, it's a good idea to have a cane with me all the time. With a folding cane, I can put it in my work bag and forget about it until I actually need it. It weighs a bit more than traditional wooden cane, as it is made out of heavy duty aluminum tube, which also mean it would withstand a lot of weight. The top most section has four button-lock positions so you could adjust the overall height of the cane, and a screw-to-tighten locking collar to further secure the adjustment. The rubberized handle is great even with wet hands; it does not slip like the hard plastic kind on my old cane. The anodized surface resists scratches, but will more likely scratch the surface it comes in contact with, so I would watch out for delicate surfaces like wooden table and car paint.
Even if you don't have chronic hip or leg pain like I do, this cane is great for traveling, especially if you knew there's going to a lot of walking and hiking involved.

The best for "cane need deniers" Apr 14, 2010
By Dauna A. Moore

I have purchased several of these for the "I AM NOT THAT OLD" seniors that need it occasionally. Convenient when needed, like a folding umbrella. Sturdy for heavy weights, adjustable for height, and all the 'deniers' do end up loving it! I then tell them it's like a 'training bra' - Some day we have to say...OKAY, I guess I do need it now! :) [...]

Excellent, Sturdy Folding Cane Mar 07, 2010
By Timothy S. Renberg I love this cane; it is much more convenient to take to places like restaurants, etc. where it easy to put out of the way, under your feet. The cane base is larger in diameter than most folding canes, so it is sturdier.

Would be 5 star but way too short!! Jun 07, 2011
By S. Emert Unless you have really long arms or short legs, do not buy this if 6 ft. or taller. I am 6 ft. medium build and this cane at its tallest was over 1 inch too short. Other than that it is a great cane and seemed to be a very high quality item. Amazon really needs a fitting guide for canes. This cane has a maximum height of 35.5" according to the Hugo web site, but I measure 35" even. The cane grip should reach your wrist joint while standing erect in a normal posture in normal shoes. My pant inseam is 31" so do the math.. Way too short. The max height of the canes should be provided by amazon for every cane sold (They do for many of them). That would prevent unnecessary orders and returns. Cannot fault them too much since the cane's package states exactly what is posted here. The fitting info is inside... The package only says up to 6'-3", while the details here show 6'-5".. If you are 6' or taller, check out the "Nova Ortho Med 3040BK Folding Cane" here on Amazon.

A Great Help Aug 20, 2011
By shelly eisenhart I used this cane for the first time during an intensive sightseeing trip to Washington DC..it held up very well. It's very sturdy and just as good as my other canes. It folds very easily and fits into my huge bag. I would recommend it. It will be heavily tested again next month on a trip oversees
