These ankle weights work very well; the construction is good and they hold up nicely. Being able to work your way up one pound at a time is great. But they are truly painful. I'm a small woman with small ankles, but that shouldn't matter. Regardless of how big your ankles are, the weights just gouge into the bones as you walk. I've doubled over wash cloths and pinned them around my ankles, and they still kill me. I have permanent bruises at my ankle bones. The manufacturer really needs to attach some kind of heavy-duty padding to the back to prevent this from happening. I wear them, but I don't think I'd buy them again.

These are 10-pound total weight-5 per ankle.I have had several different types of ankle weights over the years and I really like these the best. They are made of a smooth canvas material vs. vinyl or plastic so they are comfortable even against bare skin. The material appears to be very durable and the velcro strap is sewn well at each end and between each individual weight. I love the fact that there is a zipper that gives you access to the 5 weights, so you can remove some if needed as I did when rehabbing my knee. The individual weights are also covered in a strong material and well sewn so you won't have any leaks. all in all a great value for a solid product.

This is exactly what I was looking for, for the right price I was expecting.
ONE NOTE! When these things say "10 pounds" and it's a set, it means 5 pounds EACH.

The second time I adjusted the position of the weights, the zipper broke.I have only had these a few days.The weights are hard to get into the end postions if you want to start with only 2 lbs per ankle.The weights rubbed on my ankle bone, which I was trying to figure out how to minimize when the zipper broke.Money down the drain.I will try to get some use without zipping up the weights.Save your money.

These weights have proven to be an effective way for me to mix cardio and resistance training in a single workout. They are somewhat uncomfortable, but if you wear them with shoes and socks (or boots in my case) they feel better. Wearing shoes also helps them to stay on more securely without sliding up and down your leg. However, the metal buckle on one of them has begun to twist around sideways while using them and this causes it to loosen it's grip around my ankle and more quickly wear down the Velcro straps. The product itself is fine, but hasn't held up as well as I would have liked, considering I've only had them for a month or so. I would definitely keep using this kind of product for exercising, but I would consider looking into other brands. A plastic clip with adjustable strap like you see on harnesses would have been a better method of design.
