Nice mat but it smells Dec 15, 2009
By Maya Rye I really wanted to like this mat, as it was described as non-toxic. When it arrived it had a very strong smell that I hoped would subside with airing. Unfortunately, after two weeks the mat still smelled (although not as much) and I've decided to return it. I bought instead an eco-friendly jute mat (Hugger Mugger, but Gaiam makes them too), which turned out to be a very good choice.

not sturdy enough Feb 15, 2010

I bought this mat back in November when I started doing heated power vinyasa. I have been practicing an average of 4 times per week since then. About two weeks ago (beginning of February), the mat stopped sticking to the floor during my practice. Also, it began to stretch out while doing warrior pose and lunges even though I used a yogitoes towel over top of it. After this, it was basically unusable. This is not a good mat for heavy use. It is worth it to pay a little extra for a better quality mat if you plan to use it frequently.
Nice mat Apr 07, 2012
By Shmimey This mat is very nice. It looks good and it works well for yoga. It is one sided. I wish it was a little stronger and i fear i may rip it at some point
Very good yoga mat Mar 21, 2012
By Mike After two years of weekly use I'm ordering my second of these mats. My first finally tore where my feet gripped the mat constantly, but I feel I got my money's worth. As other reviewers have stated this mat smells fairly strongly of rubber (it's a natural rubber mat). After hanging it up on a towel rack for a few days the smell is mostly gone. It's a fairly thin mat but this isn't' a problem for me, just something to consider if you prefer more padding.
Very good mat for the price Oct 09, 2011

I like this mat a lot because I place it over my useless plastic mat that I bought for $5 years ago. The two together work perfectly proving grip and cushion. I've had this mat for a couple of years now and there's no smell (I don't really remember there being a strong smell) and is still going strong. Again, I only use it with my other mat. I don't recommend using it on it's own. Its sticky but not cushiony. I'm buying another one to keep in my office for that occasional stretch session.
