Pretty design, but lacking in function Jul 19, 2011
By Stephanie The pros of this mat: pretty, unique design, and great price. The cons? Not exactly ideal for actual yoga practice. It's ok for short practice or meditation, but when it comes to doing any yoga for more than an hour or when actual sweating is involved, it sort of falls short. It is very slippery and not very padded. Doesn't feel great on the knees or the palms of the hands when holding poses for a long time. So although it looks great and the price is nice, it is worth it to looking into more expensive but higher quality mats if you want to use this for any actual involved practice. I will keep this for a back-up or travel mat though. Not a bad mat, but I wouldn't buy this type of mat again.

Beautiful Design Jul 12, 2011
By R. Straw I wanted a mat either with a simple peace sign, the om sign, or swirls. I decided on this one cause I didn't care for the World Peace design (don't need to be reminded of world events during yoga class). I do hot yoga, and slipped once, causing a blister on my elbow when using this mat (before I learned to use a towel.)I love the design, it's so fascinating and captivating. The mat is soft...sometimes I wish they were thicker cause it would feel better on my back, but this is the standard size. Nicely done, Gaiam.

Too slick Dec 10, 2010
By Mike Hype I purchased this item for my Wife who used it a total of two times. She isn't a heavy sweater, and she does not engage in high activity yoga but she said that she was slipping all over this mat. She said that other than the slipping the mat was great, but that's not much consolation.

beautiful mat Nov 11, 2010
By Jen My favorite part about this mat is when I get to stare at the beautiful design while doing planks and chaturanga. It somehow makes it not so bad haha. This mat also holds its shape really well and lies flat when unrolled. Good grip, good length, no complaints here!

Gorgeous mat at a great price! Oct 14, 2009

This mat is so beautiful in person. I was looking for something serene for my yoga classes and the color and print are perfect. The mat isn't too thick so it doesn't cause any stability issues. The non slip surface has wonderful tack to it and works well on my hardwood floors.
Fits perfect in the matching bag also available on Amazon.
