I used these seeds to make little bags that heat in the microwave for my husband who has cancer. Just don't over heat. Apr 19, 2011
By Rhue Luna My husband found out he has Multiple Myeloma and needs chemotherapy treatments. In the hospital they made small pillows filled with flaxseed. They are about 5"x7" with a small pillowcase to cover them. You heat them for 30 seconds in microwave or a little longer if its not hot enough. You place it wherever it feels good and it stays warm for quite a while. We use them daily and he loves them. Just can't burn them or they smell awful. You can then wash the little pillowcases when needed. So they are good for something besides eating them. I use the ground up ones for my bread. I thought this would be helpful for other cancer patients out there or someone that needs warmth without a hot water bottle. I purchased this item on Amazon.com and this is the link to the product. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001VNEIO4/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title

Egg replacement Aug 30, 2010
By M. Case I don't eat eggs anymore. This is a great replacement for baked goods needing eggs. You have to work out the amount needed for each recipe. I grind them in a coffee grinder, then add water, then let it sit for a few minutes. One tablespoon of flax seed to three tablespoons of water equals about one egg. Looks kind of funky. If you use to much you will tasted the flax seed. Not a bad taste, just differant. When you get the amout right, no extra taste.

Great flax seed Nov 25, 2011
By RoyS Best quality I've purchased yet. Very good value. I'm placing another order today. I particularly like the fact that it comes in three smaller sealed bags to keep it fresh.

Frontier Flax seed Apr 17, 2011
By Lola Schroeder Very satisfied with the Flax seed. We were looking for whole flax seed because once it is ground it should be kept in the freezer to keep it fresh. This worked out very well.
great packaging Mar 24, 2012
By rose weisst packaged nicely for freshness, seeds were fresh and delicious for allowing them to sit whole in water to drink the gel that forms for good intestinal health; they are great added whole to your bread baking. sweet or savory! Ground in your coffee grinder they are great sprinkled on hot cereal or in pancake mix or in applesauce, etc.
