Good sturdy ankle weights Jun 13, 2010
By Pencil Pusher I've been using these for about a year now. I like them, and they've worked quite well for me and have held up well. They have wraparound Velcro straps that make them fairly easy to put on and take off. I like the fact that you can adjust the weight in 1/2 pound increments. I started off with 1/2 lb. per leg, and have worked my way up to 5 lbs. per leg by gradual steps. I use them primarily for stationery exercises such as leg lifts, but they should fit tightly enough for walking, jogging, etc., although once you get up to around 5 lbs., nothing is going to feel too natural, obviously, if you're moving around a good bit. The only negative I would have is that a time or two I did have to redistribute some of the metal bars into different pockets because they jammed into my ankles a little, but not a major problem.

Confusing descriptions Apr 21, 2011
By A. Lo I'd ordered this on April 12, and I wish Monte Wilson's review had come in just a bit sooner ;) ...I too thought I was going to get two 5 pound ankle weights but was a bit annoyed when two 2.5 pound ankle weights came in. It's also misleading when Pencil Pusher left his/her review saying he/she can adjust the weight in increments of "1/2 pound increments". At a glance you can see each strap has 10 rods, which led me to believe, 5 pounds each weight. Nope! It's actually 1/4 pound per rod. Wrong product!

It is what it is Apr 12, 2011
By Monte R. Wilson I thought it was going to be two five pound ankle weights but it turned out to be two two and a half pound weights. Other than that,, it is what it is.

I just got these today, so maybe I can't attest to how much I'll like these in the long term. But I think it's a safe bet that I will indeed. They're super-comfortable, for one thing. It's like having a pair of really big, soft socks on, unlike my other ankle weights, which, besides being ten years old, scratch any bare skin they touch. I like how the weights are easy to remove and reinsert, so it's easy to control how much weight you use. I've heard of other ankle weights whose weights were not easy to do that with, so I wanted to check that. And I like that these have a Velco strap, instead of buckles, like my old pair. Buckles are fine, but they annoy me sometimes. The strap also makes them easy to adjust, size-wise. I can go as loose or snug as I want. These also look very sturdy. They also arrived within four days of my order, and in a secure, attractive package that was easy to open. Good job there!
Overall, I can't wait to use these. I just hope I don't give them too much of a beating at first - they look great! I've been trying to build my "home gym arsenal," and I only want to buy items I know I will use often. These fit the bill. Very pleased here!
