5Baby loves it + great price!  Apr 07, 2010
By A. Rowbotham
This was recommended by our pediatrician

Why it earned 5 stars:
1. Its the vitimans that baby needs. Our baby likes the taste but if you're worried yours will not, remember its good for her. After all when your child grows up you will not allow her to not do her homework if she says she doesn't like it.
2. The liquid form allows you to be able to give it to your baby in multiple ways, add to her food/straight from the dropper/add to her milk/cereal; anyway you choose.
3. The same vitamin is priced at about $12 at the department store. Add local taxes to that and it is cheaper here.
4. Eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping.

Tips:
1.If you are worried that baby will reject it for the metallic taste, start with the Polyi V Sol Multivitiman without the iron. Once your baby is used to that taste move on to this one. It will be an easier transition.
2. Work it into her routine. Babies like routine and she will learn to expect it and enjoy it.
3. Dont be discouraged if she rejects its the first few times. It takes us 31 times to get used to a taste so be patient with baby. She will learn to like it.
4. Like all liquid vitamins it will stain if spilled on clothing so if you do get it on your/babies clothes, just rinse off with cold water as soon as possible. That way it will not stain. Dont let it dry in, that stain will be harder to get rid off and you will have to pre treat with a fabric stain remover (shout/tide etc) to get rid of it.

3Tastes bad but what can you do?  Feb 01, 2011
By Parker's Mom
As a pharmacist, I have to say that this product tastes horrible because multivitamins taste horrible! Enfamil did not purposely make this product to taste this way. Luckily, adults can just swallow a pill. Iron containing vitamins taste extra worse, just imagine what iron is! It's like licking a pipe. So if your child requires it, what can you do? My daughter hated this product so much that she refused to take it completely. When she went in for her 9 month check up, she was found to be anemic and then we had to put her on straight iron drops, and believe me, they are 100 times worse than the PolyViSol. So do your best to mask the taste, or even better, make sure your child takes several servings of infant cereal (vitamin and mineral fortified)... that way, you won't even have to deal with drops.

1Alternative great tasting vitamin supplement with iron..  Feb 12, 2012
By Strongbadreviews
I had to give this to my son and every time I asked the doctor if there was something else that tasted better, I'd get the same response, "No and to mask the taste". After a year of my son crying with constant struggle and resistant, I decided that we had enough suffering....So, I went to the vitamin Shop and bought an alternative vitamin called "Animal Parade liquid vitamin" that has iron in it with all of the other vitamins your toddler needs daily. This was the only one that had iron by the way.. It is also made of natural food vitamins, meaning not laboratory made. This allows the body to digest the vitamins better and the plus is it tastes and smells good! Now he loves drinking his vitamins and we are all happy. Truly a piece of mind knowing he is getting what he needs and no suffering..

I had problems when I breastfed him because I had to give him the vitamin D one and it is awful too..especially when they are newborns it upsets their tummies. Not to mention to get them to swallow the dosage is quite the task. If you're lucky they won't throw it up after. In the vitamin shop I bought "Carlson baby D drops 400 IU" no artificial flavors nor coloring and the greatest thing of all is that one drop a day is enough. It has drops for the whole year..A one time purchase verses many time purchases of Enfamil's product that stain everything including their teeth.

Best thing of all these two vitamins are natural and free of artificial things your baby's body does not need..I hope this helps out..

The vitamins can be purchased on Amazon.

5Year-old Twins love it -- still on it  Jan 17, 2011
By cflota "SeattleTwinMom"
My now thirteen-month old twins, who were born a couple of months early, were given Poly-Vi-Sol everyday during the weeks they were at the NICU. At their Neonatologist's (and, subsequently, their Pediatrician's) recommendation, I have continued giving Poly-Vi-Sol to my twins every day of their lives. First, it was in pumped breast milk, then in formula, and now that they are moving on to organic whole milk, I still give it to them as part of their first bottle of the day. The trick is to give it to them in a very small bottle in a small amount of milk (I like Dr. Brown's 2 oz bottles) FIRST, and then the rest of their milk in a bigger bottle. My kids are so used to it, that I no longer have to put it in a little bottle for them to take it.

Frankly, I'm very surprised at the people who say things like "I'd never give my kids something that tastes bad." This is a vitamin folks. Iron is a mineral supplement that does have a metallic after taste (doesn't anybody take multivitamins that include iron during pregnancy anymore?). I credit this multivitamin with helping my kids thrive and grow strong and healthy, as they have since they left the NICU. Now that they are closer to toddlerhood, with more erratic eating patterns since they are also on solids, I don't worry as much (and neither does their Pediatrician!) as other parents seem to if the kids eat a little less every now and then. Growth wise, my twins are between the 50th-75th percentile in both height and weight, and they have aced every milestone check in their lives. Not bad for little babies that were born 10 weeks early and weighed 3 lbs. at birth. We have been very lucky, but I also have to give a lot of credit to this vitamin supplement.

For the record, I taste EVERYTHING that my kids eat or drink. It is true that this vitamin does have a strong medicinal taste. But, there are worse-tasting medicines out there. Some of which are not optional (and that my kids have been on). As for me, I am grateful that my kids can get all their necessary vitamins in a single dropperful of Poly-Vi-Sol and will continue to use it for as long my kids will take it or their Pediatrician says so.

5works great!  May 31, 2010
By S. Pajonas
we put this in my daughter's rice milk every morning and she has never complained about the taste. my doctor recommended that we use this once we realized that she's a picky eater and it covers all the basic vitamin needs (especially since we're vegetarians.) i'm also convinced that she is in good health because she takes them everyday, but that could just be a naturally good immune system.
