The 3-Star rating is not due to the item ordered but mainly to its Seller, Medical Department Store (who in my opinion deserves "0" stars)!!
Medical Department Store (MDS) who sold this cane I purchased via Amazon.com will never get another order from me. I would have returned the item immediately after their first reply to my contact with them about a missing part of the order, except that the order was placed on behalf of and shipped to a disabled individual living in another state. Being ignorant of the product description (including the proper name of parts) and offering appearing on Amazon.com, MDS did not honor the supply of all that was advertised regarding the cane ordered (namely a free PVC ferrule for the cane). At first MDS said the ferrule was a 'strap' which it is NOT. I had to send them the correct definition as to what a ferrule really is; in my e-mail to them, I even 'cut and pasted' the Product Features and Production Description wordings as they appear on the Amazon.com website -- to no avail. The replies from MSD were ignorant with no sense of good customer service! If no replacement PVC ferrule was to be supplied with the order, then the advertisement was either misleading or poorly written.
I have been ordering products on Amazon.com website for years and have never had this type of problem with an order. I repeat ... never again will I place an order that involves this company.

The product shipped on time, arrived with all the accessories as promised and it is truly an excellent product, for the first time in years, my mom does not feel as much pain from the arthritis because the walking stick has made a difference with helping her balance.

This was the perfect gift for my friend that suffered a recent injury. Extras were a big bonus: carrying case and spare tip. He is truly grateful.

I was probably sent the wrong product because there was nothing elegant about this plain black folding cane. It did not have anything decorative on it. It is a standard utilitarian ALL BLACK folding cane (works just like all folding canes; easily adjustable and fits into a large purse or back pack when folded).
