Convenient but loses its 'cool' Jan 18, 2009
By DT I have lingering pain from a high ankle sprain. I wanted something that I could take to the gym with me so I could apply immediately after my basketball game. I really like the convenience of this wrap (no ice cubes, easy to transport) but it doesn't stay cold enough to apply after a game. So, I decided to just use it around the house - straight from freezer to foot. It starts off cool (not really freezing cold) and only stays effective for 10 minutes. Depending on what you need it for, that may be enough. I was looking for something with a little more staying power. In addition, I wear size 11 womens' shoe and find that the wrap is a little big. I have to really cinch up the velcro straps and then I get some areas where it doesn't touch my foot or ankle. The wrap may be on the XL side.

Therapy Dec 13, 2007
By Pamela S. Banfield This is the exact product I use with my physical therapy for a broken ankle with 2 surgeries. I will be using this product long term. This is the best cold therapy I have found. Since it is used by my therapy, I feel it is the best on the market. Thank you.

An easy way to ice the feet Oct 29, 2011
By It's all in the feet I have plantar fasciitis, plus have problems with the peroneal tendons in my feet (I'm a long distance runner). Ice in a dixie cup works great for ice massage, but it's messy and you can't really relax while icing. This is the next best thing. The booties are very soft and pliable even when frozen, and if you are not obese or lacking in flexibility, it's fairly easy to get them on, tighten them up with the attached velcro straps, and then lay down and let the booties do the work. If you have trouble putting on your shoes and tying your own laces, these booties might be a bit of a challenge to wrap up with the velcro. I find they are VERY cold. In fact, I sometimes put on a pair of thin socks because they are so cold they almost hurt my skin in the beginning. (Which is what ice is all about - anyone who has had ice therapy knows this already!) I'm supposed to elevate my feet every day, and with the ice booties, I can elevate and ice all in one step. I'm all about saving time and being efficient, so this is a valuable plus for me. They're so soft and pliable I could imagine using them, with a little creativity, on various other injured body parts (knees, elbows etc.) I know they sell specific versions of the ice wraps for specific body parts, but again, with a little ingenuity, you might be able to make the foot ice wraps work for other body parts to avoid paying for more wraps. Every now and then, there's a new product on the market that I want to shout from the rooftops about, because I want everyone to benefit. This is one of those products. I haven't used the "hot" capability of these yet, so have nothing to say about that.

Gel Wrap Dec 17, 2010
By Celine Y. Rieneau
"coloranstyle"
My husband tore his Achilles Tendon and was told to keep ice on it. Ice does not conform to round areas. This gel wrap really fit the Dr's orders and was not a messy ,plastic bag that could leak all over the couch. It stores nicely in the freezer and is always available. The Velcro straps keep the gel wrap where it belongs. I would recommend it to anyone who is into sports or has an injury requiring cold treatment.

Elasto-Gel Hot-Cold Foot and Ankle Wrap Sep 27, 2010
By joyrider Recovering from a fractured ankle, I use the Elasto-Gel wrap for relief from pain and swelling. I keep the wrap in the freezer and put on a sock before applying the wrap. It is very cold and stays that way for 30 minutes or more. The long velcroed elastic strap can be wrapped in various configurations to address the needed area, as it remains very pliable right out of the freezer. I would recommend it to anyone needing a cold pack. I have not tried it as a heat wrap yet.
