 I got the lemon while others got 5 star quality Mar 15, 2010
The scale is very difficult to turn on. The scale says tap on it, but I have to step on it several times for it to turn on. And if that doesn't work you have to lift it up and set it down several times. Lot of effort for what was a 3 second process with my old scale. Very disappointing since I purchased this item based exclusively on the reviews. I am writing this review to save others the aggrevation of getting a poor quality product. My recommendation is to go with a well known brand. By the way I purchased this scale to replace a 30 year old Terraillon.Guess I should have taken my own advice.

The EatSmart Digital Scale is a quality scale at an excellent price. The scale seems to weigh accurately tested against another scale at a gym. Weighing over and over you get the same result. The backlight is an excellent feature and it does go off automatically so as not to waste the batteries. The digital read is large and very visable. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I read the reviews on this item and decided to try it. I bought a digital scale before - one from a mail order catalog - and it just quit working.
I put this scale next to the treadmill on our linoleum floor. The "tap" feature doesn't work so well for me, but I've found all I have to do it scoot it ever so slightly with my toe and it turns on. VERY accurate. The kids love it (they love to think they're gaining weight!) and so far it has been durable even with them getting off and on numerous times a day.
I love this scale!!!! I highly recommend it.
New "step-on" feature works great Mar 12, 2010
I ordered one of these right after the new step-on feature was added to this model. Was a little worried that they would ship me one of the old ones, in which case I was prepared to ship it right back. But no, they sent me the correct model with the new features and I couldn't be happier. The step-on feature works great, time after time, just step on the scale, get your weight, no fuss, no muss. The scale is really accurate with repeatable results, I tested it over and over, adding various small amounts of weight. Best scale I've ever had.
