Tiger Balm user has been converted by the Eagle Jun 18, 2011

I've done daily battle with the knots and trigger points of fibromyalgia since a car accident in 2009. Honestly, I thought I had tried every medicated balm, salve, liniment or rub in the book trying to stop get some relief from the spasms that had become part of my daily existence. During one of our treatment sessions, my massage therapist told me that one of her clients, who also has fibromyalgia, had found a new product that was really helping her: Eagle Brand Medicated Oil. I was all ears now, eager for the information. My massage therapist, however, had a surprise in store for me. Her client had given her a sample to share with me in our session that day. I couldn't believe my luck!
The sensation of Eagle Brand as well as its scent was quite different than that of Tiger Balm. Comprised primarily of Menthol, Eucalyptus, Methyl Salicylate, Ethyl Alcohol, Rose Oil & Mineral Oil, it takes its green color from the chlorophyll of leaves and adds a hint of nutmeg to round out its already appealing aroma. Given that my family could smell my Tiger Balm long before I entered the room, the change I've made from Tiger Balm to Eagle was welcomed by one and all (LOL)!
Still, changing medicine doesn't make sense unless a switch is being made to improve the quality of a patient's life and I have really found help for my spasms with Eagle Brand. Hence I was not surprised to learn that, in Asian medicine, Eagle Brand is truly a "jack of all trades" medication for it is used to treat anything ranging from the flu to insect bites, headache, muscular aches, backache, arthritis, strains, bruises, sprains or stomachaches.
It is a great product - one that can really help with knotty muscles and pain - and I hope it will help you as much as it has helped me.

Eagle Brand Medicated Wintergreen Oil Jul 25, 2011
By MawMaw2six I heard of Wintergreen oil from an Asian lady that said it was good for headaches (rub into the temples and forehead). It is also great for muscle spasms and joint paint. It just takes a tiny dab and a bottle will last a very long time. Also if I have allergies or sinusitis I just hold the bottle to my nostrils and sniff it and it opens up my blocked passages. Magic Jan 21, 2013
By Bebe P. Kelly The jar was so small that at first I was annoyed. I thought "How can such a tiny amount of anything do any good?" I was accustomed to giant tubs of muscle balm or ointment, slathered on multiple times in a day when something was sore. Well, one use of this lovely, smelly green balm demonstrated why a bit of it is just fine. Use this sparingly, repeat sparingly. The pain relief was not only instant but because I regained mobility in the sore shoulder, I managed to work out the soreness altogether in a few days of using the balm. It's a marvelous invention, even better than the Eagle Brand green liquid ointment and I never thought ANYTHING could be better than that! Between these two products, I don't ever intend to take aspirin or ibuprofen for body aches again. It's nice to be able to treat the pain at the site of the pain instead of drugging my entire body to get at it. I recommend it. Warning -- it is smelly! It doesn't bother me; I happen to like it but I'm told by some people that they find it annoying. Can't imagine why, but there's no accounting for taste.

Popular in Vietnam Jan 29, 2013
By Duke Win I live in the USA and always buy a bunch of these when I go to Vietnam. It seems that this product is popular over there and cheaper. Best to buy from local asian market if one is near to save a few bucks. A little of this oil will leave a burning sensation on your body as you rub it in to keep skin feeling warm. I've even had too much and it felt like hot water was on my back but as another reviewer has said, the smell of this oil is very strong. The smell may not be for everyone since the residue will stay on your skin for a long time. Best to smell it to see if you will enjoy walking around with that aroma before buying if you can. I was informed by one of my relative that they do make conterfiet or cheaper version of this bottle but I would not know the difference if I saw it. Mine is made in Singapore so hopefuly that is the original manufacturer.
