This belt is soft but sturdy. It is large enough to accommodate a plus size person. The buckle is a little difficult for my mom to undo herself but I can open it just fine.
Hard to find product Feb 25, 2012
By Kathleen Pfeiffer This has been a back saver for certain. I am a spouse/caregiver for a larger man. This product in this size was not available in the medical supply stores in my county! So I was extra-pleased when I found it on Amazon. I am a Prime Member, so shipment was included. Such a deal(:D)! After a professional showed me how to use it properly, I have found it easy to help my husband get up from a sitting position.

By cisco169 the strap is excellent quality, but where it connects is plastic so you must use carefully & it's not meant for plus size people

By DLR This belt works well for our purposes. It is used for guiding my husband as he makes transfers and needs just a little reassurance in keeping him from falling. I like having the grab handles and the larger size as an option. Also, the buckle is much easier to deal with than than the regular belt we had been using.
