Made me mobile again. May 11, 2008
By Katy Lake I had surgery on my leg, rendering the leg swollen, painful and useless, and there's nothing I can do for months until the healing is completed. The problem is that I was incapable of getting out of a car, no matter what I did (and no, I'm not fat - well, my leg is. It feels like I've got a side of beef tied to the trunk of my body.)
I was trapped in my house until I did some research and bought two items: the Duro-Med swivel seat and the standers handy bar, both from Amazon. The swivel seat works like a dream. It makes it very easy to swing in and out of the car seat. The handy bar is a device that latches onto the metal loop on the car door frame. It provides an excellent way of pushing yourself off the car seat (just do a search and you can find it on amazon.)
Between these two devices, I'm mobile again! I recommend both of them highly if you're looking for a way to get in and out of a car without using a belt and a fork lift!

An awesome seat cusion that gets the job of turning around easy and gentle. A must for people with backache or stiffness.

works as described Jan 18, 2007
By grateful shopper Handy, can also be used on the seat of a dining room chair.
So it is easier to sit down and get up and around from sitting at the table.

swivel seat May 20, 2009
By Betty Boop "Betsy" I use the swivel seat in my car. It does help some, but not as much as I had hoped that it would. You have to enter your car by sitting sideways, but then you still have to try to get your legs and feet into the car after turning the small amount that you can on the swivel seat.

Swivel Car Seat Apr 23, 2010

I ended up returning this item. It does swivel, but the round shape does not fit your bottom well while sitting in the car. It just plain was not comfortable.
