1Rollator broke - Lifetime guarantee VOID If purchased on Amazon  Feb 19, 2011
By Alison Burns
I bought this rollator for my grampa (who lives in a different state as I do) when he needed a walker and also frequently got too tired to keep walking. The medical device stores were all selling rollators for 3-4 hundred dollars, so this seemed like a great deal. We ordered the blue, and with a wire basket. This one was red and with a cloth basket--- not what he wanted but not a big enough deal to send it back.

A year later, the leg broke at the seam where the back and the leg are welded together. My grampa called me to ask how he can get it fixed.... after all Drive has a great reputation and a LIFETIME guarantee. I have talked to Amazon and Drive no less than 20 times now. Amazon says they will only replace it within 30 days of purchase. Drive says they don't deal directly with consumers- only through retailers. Drive advised me that if Amazon won't help me replace the item, I should call around retailers in my grampa's area to see if they will replace it. Here's what all of the retailers have said (and i've talked to over a dozen) "so you want us to replace an item that we didn't sell you? No. I'm sorry, but it's not our problem. call someone else."

So here we are, with a broken rollator, many wasted hours on the phone chasing a worthless guarantee, and a poor grampa who said tonight on the phone "it's ok for now, I'm trying not to lean on the broken side".

I completely regret buying this brand as well as buying it from Amazon.com. If you are considering this item or ANY item with a guarantee for purchase online, please research the guarantee conditions first.

4I'm pleased with this rollator  Jul 04, 2009
By PM
First, about the color (I got the green one): in very, very bright light and at certain angles, a slight greenish tinge can be seen. For all intents and purposes, though, the paint color is black, not green. It looks like it was painted black and then had the barest skim of a green metallic wash brushed over it. I'm disappointed in the color. It looks much greener in the picture.

Aside from the color, I'm pleased with this so far. It's my first, so I don't have any comparisons to other rollators, but it seems to work very well.

It was very easy to assemble -- unfold it, put the handle pieces in the ends of the frame, insert the knobs into the holes and tighten them at the correct height, stick the backrest into the other side, drop the basket into the space under the seat, and you're ready to roll.

The seat is higher than I expected -- when I'm sitting all the way back in the seat, only the balls of my feet touch the floor (I'm 5'7"). This is good because it's easier for me to stand up from a higher seat than a lower one.

I was concerned about using the hand brakes because I have little strength in my hands and fingers, but the brakes are very easy for me to operate and they work well. They are easy to squeeze upward to slow down or stop while walking, and easy and quick to flip down and lock the wheels when you want to sit.

It rolls easily on my carpeting. It easily fits through all of the doors in my house except for the narrow bathroom doors. It maneuvers well, turns sharp corners easily, and can easily do a u-turn in my hallway.

It's comfortable enough to sit in for a meal or a conversation, and the handles can be used as arm rests. The straight backrest bar feels about the same comfort-wise as a straight-back kitchen chair -- obviously not meant to be leaned on for extended periods, but functional enough to give your back a rest and keep you from falling out backwards. After all, it's not meant to be a La-Z-Boy!

It seems to be well built and feels sturdy. I lean heavily on it when I'm walking with it and it doesn't feel at all wobbly. If I accidentally sit down too hard in it, it doesn't feel like it's going to collapse under me.

I was resisting getting a walker and trying to make do with a quad cane and holding onto walls and furniture. The rollator makes everything so much easier and I wish I had gotten one sooner. With the rollator, I'm steadier when I'm on my feet, have a place to sit down instantly when I need to, and can easily transport books, laptop, food, etc, for myself.

The wire basket is easily removable -- it just rests (securely) in its place under the seat -- and has a handle, so it can be taken out and filled/emptied and put back in place easily. The seat is hinged in the back and lifts easily to allow access to the basket.

Everything about this rollator seems easy. I'm pleased with it and will buy another one to use in a different location. I wish I had gotten a rollator sooner!

5Great Product!  May 19, 2007
By Carol J. Tompkins "CJT"
It is a fantastic product .. and at a good price! No conplaints with the walker itself whatsoever. One wheel brake was just the slightest bit bent from shipping and dragged, but was ealily 'tweaked' back into position with a pair of pliers. Maybe a tad better packaging would be nice, but overall I would recommend this walker to anyone who wants a wheeled walker. My mother-in-law now gets around faster, gets more exercise, and even has a place to sit if she becomes fatigued. Hard to believe we didn't get one of these before now.

5Excellent product and purchase  Nov 22, 2009
By S. J. Northrip "SamN"
I saw this rollator at a local medical supply store for $250. It appears to be identical to the one I purchased at Amazon-- so the Amazon price is certainly a bargain. Free freight and no sales tax made the purchase even better by comparison.

The product works great and gives good stability. I like the padded seat and use it when we are out and about doing shopping or errands.

It stores and loads for car travel pretty easy for us. We drive a Toyota Prius so there's lots of room when the back seats are folded down. It will also fit with the back seats up.

The portability, the padded seat, the construction, and ease of purchase were factors that we considered. I also bought a cup and cane holder from Amazon.

5VERY SATISFIED  Nov 03, 2009
By Redeemed
I just received this item. I had a huge old-fashioned frame walker with the tennis balls on it. Absolutely horrible. What a night and day difference between that thing and this rollator. On this rollator, you can adjust the height of the handles, and it has hand brakes to stop. The handles have hand grips on it for a secure grasp. Easy to lock so you can sit down for a rest. Seat height is not adjustable, but it works for me. It has a higher seat so I don't have to sit so low. Great in waiting rooms when the chairs are too low. Padded bar for a backrest. Very sturdy and lightweight. It turns and manuevers very easily. Can even turnabout 360 degrees. Try that with a frame walker. Not happening. Fits through doorways. Has a handy wire basket under the seat that is easily removable. Choice of colors. I chose blue. It's like a steel blue/gray so it goes nicely with the black trim. Nice color and design. I highly recommend this rollator. Decent price and free shipping. This is the one to get.
