Not your typical "celebrity frangrance" Sep 14, 2007
By emmylou
"Book Chick"
Both of SJP's scents are simply fabulous. I loved Lovely so much I wanted to try Covet. At first (while still wet) it seems a bit too "green" and nice but nothing spectacular. Then after 2-3 minutes the dry down is fabulously warm and intriguing. Then as the dry down continues it only gets better. The ultimate scent is a warm woody, slightly musky (I mean expensive - french perfume - quality musk) fragrance with hints of chocolate, lemony mint (ever so slight) and a sweet woodsiness that just completes the scent. These subtle scents are mingled together so nicely that none jump out at you but rather coexist quitely together to make a unique combination of fragrances that work together so nicely. You won't be sorry. This is a romantic fragrance men will love to smell in a woman's hair and on her neck while nuzzling!!! . It is not sweet and flowery and not overtly musky. Just fabulous. I also love SJP's Lovely . I usually don't like celebrity frangrances as they are not complex enough. These two are!!! They are just as wonderful as any fragrances done by designers or perfume houses!! You won't be sorry!!!! *Covet traps you in a hypnotic bouquet of crushed geranium leaves, fresh sicilian lemon, and french lavender laced with decadent chocolate, magnolia, and honeysuckle. sensuous musk, exotic woods, and smoldering amber leave an intoxicating afterglow.*

Unexpected and beautiful Jan 29, 2009
By Elizabeth I had been looking for a new scent for a couple of months, when I came upon Covet. I generally like to alternate between Thierry Mugler Angel and Vera Wang Princess. I like dark, patchouli scents, and some floral as well. I didn't know what to expect when I read the description of the notes in Covet. I love lemon, chocolate and lavender separately, but I never imagined they could combine to create such a scent. This perfume is one of many layers. At first I noticed the musky lavender, but as the day wore on, I could identify the chocolate and lemon as well. I only spritzed twice, but was able to pick up the scent (not over-powering, but not light either), even hours later. Covet is fun to wear. It is a beautiful, unexpected scent -- not for a J.Lo-type of girl, but more for the woman who revels in owning vintage costume jewelry and handbags, knowing that she's the only one wearing such finds.

Different, and Beautiful! Dec 30, 2010
By kewhicker I ordered SJP Covet after reading many mixed reviews. I have previously used Jessica Simpson's Fancy, which I loved- but was ready for a change. Right out of the box, Covet is beautiful. The green coloring, the brown flower top, it screams vintage (which I love!). At first spray, it comes off quite strong, with almost a citrus like scent. As it fades, it develops into a spicy blend of delicious goodness- lighter, and much more developed- my husband adores it. If you're hesitant, I definitely recommend giving Covet a try. I will be ordering another bottle soon, because I don't want to wait too long, and have it become completely unavailable!

not my style Apr 02, 2010
By Erin Palmer I ordered this because I wanted to see what it smelled like and it was a darn good price. Granted, even though it is not necessarily my style, it is quite a bit better than most perfumes found on drugstore counters and a fair number of those at perfume counters too. It is a bit too floral for me. It doesn't seem floral in the classic sense, like a perfume like Joy, but it does have some floral elements. It also has a touch of something mildly spicy- maybe carnation? It has a sweetness at the same time, but not overly so. Floral scents usually don't smell very good on me, but I can see this smelling amazing on someone who maybe wants an atypical floral with a touch of spice.

Purchased unsniffed - a risk that paid off handsomely! Jan 30, 2010

I had heard and read many views of Covet by SJP... but was hesitant to buy it unsniffed.. one fine day and took the plunge and Voila! I found a new fave! Covet is a "gourmand perfume", with dominance of chocolate and lime (on my skin), which does not smell as sweet as it sounds, but is delicious nevertheless. The scent was admired by many people, and the 50Ml bottle looks sooooo pretty with the flower shaped cap!
I love covet and recommend it as a regular wear perfume that will always succeed in making you feel bright and special!
