Couvre works if you know how to work it May 04, 2008
By Stage Performer I am a performer. I've been using this product for 25 years. It works great. No one can tell I use it. The key to Couvre is how you apply it. Tip of the day - soak the sponge applicator in water, squeeze out the water so that it is damp. This helps it spread smoothly around your scalp. Spread the Couvre into the spnonge, not as a blob, so there are no globs. Press hard, evenly and in circles so that the lotion is even every where. Try not to use too much. I also spread it where I have plenty of hair to color match the scalp, that's the secret, good blending. A little goes along way. Remember, you're just trying to cover not replace. Good luck.

My Couvre Masking Lotion Aug 03, 2007

This is a super product especially when used in combination with Toppik. As my hair countinues to thin, the covre tints my scalp closer to the color of my hair while, the Toppik fills in thin spots with the results of appearing to have hair where in none. I am 63 and the combination makes me appear much younger. I also color my hair.

product and seller lousy Apr 26, 2007
By M.Warren I agree with the above customer feedback. I was sent the wrong color (black and I am blonde) the company, PIR's, error and they refused to let me return the product to get a refund to my credit card. The product looks greasy, is in a VERY small tube (1.25 oz) and the total with shipping was 37.00.

works great for THIN hair, NOT for totally bald spots Sep 21, 2010
By TexasShopper I've been using Toppik (black) for over a year and it works great, but is very expensive. I've used Couvre (black) for a few months and it works well in combination with Toppik. On its own, it leaves the thin areas still a bit noticeable for my taste. A small application of Toppik hair fibers pretty much fills the tiny gaps that were either missed by applying Couvre, or have not been evenly coated.
I showed my kid the "before & after" of my thinning (crown) hair and he could not believe how well this works. And it does not really take that much time. I apply Couvre for about 2 minutes then let it dry for about 5-10 mins while I do other stuff. Once dry, I comb my hair and apply a little bit of Toppik. Comb again, then apply a cheap hair spray to keep the hair style in place for the whole day.
Bottomline, if Toppik hair fibers works well for you. Couvre is a way to significantly reduce the amount of Toppik you need to apply.

Great solution! Apr 07, 2008
By Wanda I have used couvre for years. It's fantastic. It's important to follow the instructions exactly. Using only a little results in a natural look. I, too, use about two tubes per year at most. The only problems I've had is when I tried to use too much. Applying on a damp scalp after shampooing is best. As with anything new, it takes a little practice to apply perfectly. Long ago I became adept at the application and find it no problem at all. The results are worth it. It also covers gray roots growing in until I color my hair again. My only worry about it is that they will stop making it! I love it and would not be without it.
