Description:

The CPAP Multi-Mask Sleep Aid Pillow is designed to provide support and comfort while reducing mask pressure, leaks and discomfort. It improves comfort and CPAP use with all styles and brands of masks. Product Description CPAP Multi Mask Sleep Pillow Finally, a CPAP Pillow Mask sleep aid that addresses comfort and compliance issues for CPAP users The American Sleep Apnea Association identifies CPAP therapy as the most common treatment for sleep apnea. CPAP therapy works by preventing the airway from closing during sleep. It is administered at bedtime through a nasal or facial mask held in place by velcro straps around the patient s head. The CPAP Mask is connected by a tube to a small air compressor. The CPAP machine sends air under pressure through the tube and into the mask, where it imparts positive pressure to the upper airways, preventing the tissues in the back of the throat from collapsing during sleep. The CPAP Pillow Mask is an extremely effective form of treatment when used in compliance with doctors orders. However, non-compliance is a big issue. It has been estimated that over 65% of patients use the machine for a maximum of just 4 hours per night when it should be used for the duration of the patient s sleep. Additionally, many patients report using the CPAP for just a few nights out of the week. Discomfort is a major factor contributing to non-compliance. During side sleeping or stomach sleeping, the CPAP mask presses and rubs against the patient s face, which leads to discomfort and can also distort the mask, causing leaks and exacerbating the problem of non-compliance. The CPAP Multi Mask Pillow Improves: Mask comfort Freedom of movement during sleep Multi-position sleeping for side, back and stomach sleepers Neck support and spinal alignment The CPAP Multi Mask Pillow Reduces: Mask leaks Mask pressure on face Airway resistance due to better neck support. Note: Pillows are not returnable once removed from sealed packaging.

4A good choice for CPAP users  May 06, 2010
By TangledUpNBigBlue
This pillow is an improvement over regular pillows for CPAP users --the cutouts allow the mask & hose to remain comfortably positioned making for a better nights sleep for side sleepers like me. Be aware the pillow is quite firm which I like but doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone. This is my first non standard pillow so I can't compare to others but versus a standard bed pillow it's worth the price. I also bought the accessory kit which adds a foam insert,a pillow cover and a cover for the air hose--I'm glad I did the extra cushioning is a nice plus although at the price of the pillow I feel the pillow cover should have been included. As for the hose cover, in theory it helps prevent condensation from accumulating in the air hose -I have only had that problem once before I received the cover and not since so I cannot attest to it's effectiveness. If you have problems with condensation turn down your humidty settings remove the hose from the CPAP and hang to dry out during the day --simple but effective.

4Helpful, not world changing  Feb 18, 2010
By J. K. Berman
The pillow is comfortable, though maybe too firm for some people's taste, though I really like it. The cutouts for your cpap mask are only on the two lower corners, it doesn't run all the way across. That makes it work for your head to be on a firm supportive surface but your mask will easily fit into the cutout if you sleep near one of the pillow edges. The pillow does fit into a normal sized pillow case. All in all, it's a bit more comfortable than a normal pillow while you're using your cpap, but it's not a world changing difference.

2Initially was quite happy with it but over time I'm not so sure  Dec 30, 2010
By Andrea L. Duncan
It does have cutouts for your C-pap but there is too much padding at the top so you wind up sleeping further down on it than it's designed for or winding up with a crick in your neck in the morning. I don't see how it correctly supports your spine with that in mind. I wouldn't buy again but it was worth trying as my other pillow didn't work too well. I think I'll look into that cloud pillow I've seen advertised.
UPDATE: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FPH1VQ/ref=oss_product I slept on the cloud contour pillow for the first time last night and it was an instant relief. The spine alignment is perfect and it doesn't bother me with my c-pap (I'm a side sleeper). I read some reviews that said it felt like sleeping on a rock but I think it's just perfect, just enough support (it does have some give to it I found pleasant) and my neck is kink free today. I'm loving the cloud pillow. It does have a chemical odor at first but it dissipates and the cover is washable. I didn't have to fight with it at all as I did with the C-pap countour pillow, I fought with that thing every time I moved. There was just too much padding at the top of it and I didn't get any neck support at all. I don't know if that was from a month's use or just the design but I suspect the latter as it's higher at the top without sufficient dip after what should be the neck support. It didn't work for me at all. It was a waste of money for me.
For $30 the contour cloud pillow was well worth it in my opinion. Instructions say it should last 2 to 3 years before you have to replace it due to compression so I figure I'll get my use out of it. I slept with buckweat hull pillows for years and liked them (though my honeybunny thought they were like sleeping on a rock ~ lol) but the contour cloud is truly my favorite pillow that I've ever had hands down.

5Amazingly comfortable  Dec 17, 2010
By Bonnie Blandford
I've slept with this pillow now for only 4 nights and I love it. It's perfect if you're a side or stomach sleeper and a regular pillow gets in the way of your mask. I thought it would be too hard since I'm used to a nice soft down pillow but surprisingly, it turns out to be really comfortable. I put another pillow under it to raise it up higher since that's what I'm used to. If your mask moves or leaks when it runs into your pillow, this may be the answer for you.

4It helps  Jul 26, 2010

I find that the indentation in the pillow should be larger & it could use a little more neck support @ the base.
