 OPKs are fine, but HPTs are a waste of your money Jan 10, 2006

The OPKs do their job; I didn't have a problem with them.
The HPTs are another story!! They are supposed to detect anything above 20 mIU/ml. I've only used first morning urine, or urine held in for at least 5 hours. But repeatedly, my lines were so faint that I had to convince myself it was wishful thinking. I showed them to my partner: "Sorry honey, I know how much you want this, but there is really no test line here; it's negative!!!"
So, I decided to try Answer, side by side with a strip, to see if I was crazy; I dipped one strip and one Answer in the same urine at the same time... Answer turned very + as soon as the urine reached the antibody line! The strip, as before, could not conclusively be read as a positive.
An hour after that, I went in for a quantitative blood test: my hCG level was already 67 mIU/ml! Over three times more than the minimum those strips are said to detect!!!
Bottom line: Avoid a false negative! Spend a couple more dollars for real HPTs!

Our standard computer up and died about two weeks ago. The instuctions for these tests happened to be on that hard drive. I spent quite some time trying to find the instructions to these tests online. Searching under Accutech gave me a big bunch of nothing. So to save anyone else the trouble, here's the link you need if you've lost your instructions: http://www.accuratepregnancytests.com/online_ovulation_test_instructions.html I can't say anything about the actual product yet, but the packaging and the annoyance about the instructions doesn't bode well.

I wasted $15 and 2 months on this product!! I thought I was missing my ovulation days because my cycle has been somewhat irregular. Turns out the product does not work. I just tested with these strips and a First Response strip. According to this strip, I am not ovulating and the First Response strip indicates that I am. Do not waste your time and money on this!

This product was easy to use with clear instructions. I used them for 2 months and am now pregnant. I would encourage others to use this product and work with this vendor. My materials were always shipped quickly.

WORKED THE FIRST TRY!! Sep 17, 2005

Only needed 3 strips until a positive ovulation appeared. Three weeks later, tested positive for pregnancy! We had been trying unsuccessfully for over a year. This was our First try with the ovulatoin strips and it worked!
