excellent product Jun 24, 2008
By Matthew G. Sherwin CAUTION: READ DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING !!!
This topical solution is a generic brand of Lotrimin; and it has worked wonders on my toenail infection! Believe it or not, a toenail fungal infection can eventually get so bad that it actually begins to hurt somewhat; and the infected nail can chafe against your sock. It's even worse when you're wearing a shoe with that sock! It just plain gets uncomfortable; and besides, who wants a fungal infection on their foot or toenail, even if it's usually a relatively minor problem?
In addition, this same liquid solution apparently can help tremendously with "jock itch" and "athlete's foot;" but I can't comment too much on that personally because I did not use this solution for those problems.
Again, the directions are on the bottle, so read them first before using this product. Nevertheless, I will also tell you what worked for me specifically in my particular case. I got this and then I first cleansed the area with soap and water; then I applied it to the infected area. The solution (liquid form) is probably better for a nail infection than antifungal Lotrimin cream because the liquid solution can get underneath your nail much more effectively than any cream could. Make sure it gets applied generously to both the outside of the nail and underneath your toenail. I have used this only one day and already the infection is beginning to subside.
Of course, if this product doesn't work for you or if you have nay health concerns, see your doctor or ask them questions first before using this solution. The doctor may refer you to a dermatologist depending on your precise situation.
This product works well for me; and I think it's great for other people, too. Use it before any expiration date printed on the bottle. After that discard this and get another bottle.
Good luck to you!

Great for fungal ear infections Aug 07, 2011
By Charlotte T Jackson I suffer from fungal ear infections (as opposed to the more common bacterial ear infections) and clotrimazole liquid is one of the few products available OTC that treats this condition. Most people think of clotrimazole/Lotrimin as an athlete's foot medication, but the ear specialist at the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital who first diagnosed the problem recommended it to me. It proved effective against the infection, and I experienced no adverse effects. I applied a few drops in each ear twice a day, either lying on my side or tilting my head sideways (to keep the drops in) for about one minute on either side. I got relief from the symptoms within a couple of days. The downside is that you have to keep up the regimen for about four weeks, even after the symptoms resolve, or the fungus will likely return. However, other than Burrows' Solution I am not aware of any other drugstore remedy effective against fungal infections of the ear. I wish that it were more widely carried! The cream, spray, and ointment formulations are useless, as they don't penetrate into your ear canal. I stockpile this stuff!

Best Athletes Foot Antifungal Available Jun 26, 2009
By C. Corter By far the best Athletes Foot Antifungal available still on the market today. It's easy to use, store, transport, lasts a long time, no mess or telltale signs, and helps eliminate the stigma. For over 15 years, I've had a couple broken toes that stay close together. The summer heat and moisture cause irritation this eliminates it quickly. I use it every other day in the summer as prevention. A drop where needed and the bottles lasts a long time. Its original name was Lotrimin solution.

My opinion Sep 03, 2009
By Charles E. Landon This is one of the best products I have ever used. I just wish more drug stores carried it again so I would not have to purchase it online. Thanks!
