asset for those with lesser mobility Mar 30, 2006

"Well Satisfied"
This is an excellent product, one which is far superior to other walkers with baskets on the market. Its non-institutional appearance is a real asset. The padded basket cover and foam-encircled back rail provide a comfortable seat in the home or outside. It turns with ease, while still offering real stability. It does store easily in a backseat or trunk. The weight may make it slightly unwieldy to lift above waist high, and there is some assembly required.

Grandma's New Cadillac Apr 23, 2009
By d. Ryan This walker is great for going on walks. The standard type walker is still the right choice for getting from point A to point B inside the apartment. The idea was to make it so Grandma wouldn't have to worry so much about venturing out so far that she was too tired to get back, and I think we accomplished that. The wheels are smooth, stable, and turn on a dime. There's a huge difference compared with the standard walker, that scrapes along and has to be lifted over bumps. The standard walker steals a lot of energy just maneuvering it, and it disrupted the normal rhythm of walking. This one is just the opposite - it encourages walking, but doesn't get away from you. The brakes work fine, and it seems completely sturdy to sit on with the brakes locked. Locking and unlocking the breaks is easy, with a solid click - they're not going to lock or unlock by accident. The quality is great - probably it'll still be around when I'm 91. The photo is pink, but the actual walker is a metallic dark red. I thought I'd be disappointed if it turned out not to be pink, but now I think I like the red better anyway.

Absolutely the best. Sep 27, 2011

After months of research, we bought this rolling walker for my 94-year-old mother-in-law. It was absolutely the right choice. The walker is extremely well made and well engineered. It is very easy to put together, easy to adjust, and very sturdy. It also has large, substantial wheels, making it easy to maneuver and it stays very stable on a variety of surfaces. The brakes work well, provide good feedback, and feel solid in your hands.
My mother-in-law was concerned that she had become too unsteady using only her cane, and she had stopped taking her morning walks outside altogether. The Carex roller walker has made all the difference - she absolutely loves it, and she's now bragging about making it "clear around the building" on her daily walks. She likes being able to take a break, sit on the seat, and enjoy the weather, and the under-seat storage is great for taking a scarf, a pair of gloves, and a bottle of water.
This walker has made all the difference in her life. Because she's resumed her daily walks, she's actually gotten a bit stronger and is more comfotable just using her cane for other activities.

Carex Roller Walker Dec 10, 2010
By Prairielass GENERALLY, I FIND THIS PRODUCT GREAT. IT WAS EASY TO ASSEMBLE (ACTUALLY, VERY LITTLE TO DO). IT WAS PURCHASED FOR AN 88 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHO CAN'T STAND/WALK FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. IT WORKS WELL FOR TRIPS TO STORES AND WALKS AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THE LOCKING BRAKES MAKE IT EASY TO STOP, LOCK THE WHEELS AND TAKE A REST ON THE PADDED SEAT. THE LARGER (8 IN.) WHEELS TRAVERSE ALL MANNER OF TERRAIN EASILY. IT FOLDS QUICKLY AND FITS INTO THE TRUNK WELL. THE ONLY THING IT LACKS IS SOME KIND OF LATCH OR HOOK TO KEEP IT IN THE FOLDED POSITION WHEN MOVING TO AND FROM THE TRUNK.
