sturdy all plastic commode Nov 18, 2006
By Mona I purchased this bedside commode for my disabled mother a year ago. It is very sturdy and supports her weight well. Because it is all plastic there is no worry about rust, paint flaking, or screws that can scratch fragile skin. I think this design is superior to the standard metal frame commodes we have purchased previously.

Almost Perfect Mar 03, 2009

Bought this for mom's visit. Just perfect! Once catch ~ no handle to lift the waste bucket out to empty it. Mom feels embarrassed to not be able to lift it herself. Otherwise this is a most excellent product.

Special Needs Potty Aug 28, 2008
By CC's mom This is a well made stable product. My 6 yr old son has autism. He is very fearful of the bathroom. This enabled us to place a toilet in his room that looked more like a chair. The plastic material is not as cold as a toilet. The arms make him feel stable. The open bottomed insert will allow us to transition him to using this potty over the toilet in the bathroom when he is ready. Great product. Well worth the money.

Great Product Feb 04, 2010
By P. Do I bought this for my 88-years old mother who has a bad knee. What is great about this product is that I can take it inside her room at night so she would not have to walk a great distance to the restroom and take it back to the restroom for her to use during the day.
During the day, it's just a simple matter of placing this sturdy chair over the commode and voila, there is a raised toilet seat with arms on both sides and 4 legs firmly on the ground. Although I have not bought any other products but I am sure this is a lot more sturdy than installing a separate chair-rail (with only 2 legs) and a raised toilet seat.
The only thing I see as a short-coming for this product is about the removeable back of the chair. It is a separate part and needs to be installed when this product is used as a stand-alone commode. Without it, there will not be a back for the person to fall back on. When you use it over the toilet, you will have to remove the back from the chair if you do not want to remove the existing toilet seat and lid. This back piece of the chair, however, it's a little tough to remove.
I have selected not to install this back piece and when I take it inside her room, I place it against a wall near her bed so she can have a place for her back. In the morning, I just take it back out and place the whole thing over the toilet, with existing seat and lid intact and lifted up.
She's very much happy with this product.
